program. The message focused on priority registration beginning on November 2nd and the
importance of meeting with their Student Success coach prior to this date.
Student Advising Visits: 139 visits completed during the week of 10/01 – 10/15/2016.

Student Career Visits: 3231 visits completed during the week of 10/01 – 10/15/2016
(includes classroom and mass email outreach).
Goals
Accuplacer Pilot Prep Proposal: To better prepare students to take Accuplacer (a rise in the
number of students not testing “college ready” in reading has been noted), a proposal is being
developed that provides students with options to study and prepare for the placement exam.
The pilot program would focus on students who need to retake the assessment. The goal is to
help students increase their re-test scores, place into college-level classes and help the student
advance at a faster rate/time to degree completion. (Important Note: This would not replace
the need for Solutions Required. If a student tests one time and scores into Solutions, the
student will still need to complete the Solutions program before being able to re-test in
reading through the program.)
FYEX Class Visits: Success Coaches are scheduled to attend FYEX 0060 classes during the
week of 10/24. During the class time, general group advising will be conducted along with a
review of the new Student Planning tool.
New Student Orientation: Connect to College Spring 2017 sessions will be held on the
following dates and times: 11/8 at 9 AM and 2 PM; 11/15 at 2 PM; 12/6 at 9 AM; 12/8 at 2
PM; 12/13 at 9 AM; 12/15 at 2 PM and 1/10/17 at 9 AM.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) support group: Exploration of the development of an
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) support system for NC State students is underway. The

same; marketing posted information on Facebook. Everything on track… Cathy and I know
there will be “glitches” and confused students during Priority Registration, but every attempt
is being made to be proactive. Thanks to Terri Myers, Keith S., Cathy C., Mike Cole who
have been instrumental in creating all the materials, printing and distributing. And to all the
faculty for their participation!
Over 140 Career Awareness Surveys completed by students for the grant! Super response!

their IPad or phone to register for classes or to view their class schedule. Bev and Cathy will
work with marketing in Spring to do a media blitz to students on this. This term the goal is to
just get through registration with the new registration software.
