President’s Message Louise Leister has a well-trained and recognized eye for the art of bonsai, as well as the art of bonsai display. Last month, she put on a bonsai display clinic for GCBS that was world class. She had a great PowerPoint presentation and extensive display with many insights on the art of bonsai and a real ‘how to’ for displaying trees. Louise Leister at August’s Club Meeting For September, we have a change of schedule to the program. We will now have a wiring demonstration with the Vice Presidents David Baruch and Mike Sullivan presenting. These real students of bonsai will teach, and reteach, us the basics of proper wiring. They will also lead us through the details of wiring on a more advanced level. We are really fortunate to have such quality programing and learning opportunities. Please take a couple of minutes to select and prepare your tree for wiring to make the most of this opportunity. I hope by now that all of GCBS has selected at least one item to place in the auction. If not for sale, you can always make a donation to the Gold Coast Auction table. If you’re interested in selling any items at the upcoming GCBS auction in October, please let me know. It is also that time of year to open up the discussion for the board members for next year. If you’re interested in becoming more active, please let us know—we can always use the help. Thanks, and look forward to seeing you next at our meeting on Sept 12 th .
