Positive Reviews for LCCC’s GenCyber Teacher Camp LCCC’s GenCyber Teacher Camp received a glowing review from the Naonal Security Agency’s GenCyber Team during their onsite visit. The cybersecurity camp for K-12 teachers, the only teacher camp in Pennsylvania, was conducted June 24 through 28 by lead instructor Professor Susan Miner, K-12 curriculum specialists Sami Jo Eckhart and Carol Dickerson, and program director Alan Jeffery. Giving every aspect of the program a posive rang, the GenCyber Team concluded that lesson planning and providing the teacher parcipants with support and resources were strengths of the camp. The instrucon and acvies were engaging throughout the day, and the camp’s atmosphere encouraged parcipants to collaborate and share ideas. The review team was also impressed with the camp instructors’ use of Canvas to upload resources and references and to enable the parcipants to share their completed lesson plans with each other throughout the upcoming school year. In interviews with the GenCyber Team, parcipants reported that collaborang with each other was valuable and the resources and strategies they were given would be useful in the classroom. They also appreciated the support from the instructors that would connue aſter the camp ended, nong that the camp was one of the best professional development experiences they have had. At the encouragement of the GenCyber Team to re-apply for another federal grant, the camp director and instructors are already planning the program for next summer’s camp.
