BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) is a constantly growing non-profit and non-political organisation. Since 1989 we provide communication, co-operation and exchange possibilities for students all over Europe.

96 Local BEST Groups (LBGs) in 33 countries are creating a growing, well organised, powerful, young and innovative student network.

BEST strives to help European students of technology to become more internationally minded, by reaching a better understanding of European cultures and developing capacities to work on an international basis. Therefore we create opportunities for the students to meet and learn from one another through our academic and non-academic events and

educational symposia. “Learning makes the master”, but the final goal is a good working place, therefore we offer services like an international career centre to broaden the horizons for the choice on the job market.

Our priority is to offer high quality services for students all over Europe. Thus, we manage to bring all the partners in the “student - company - university” triangle closer.

The Presidents’ Meeting is BEST’s 2nd biggest event and is held every year in a different country organised by a local BEST group. This years edition is organised by the Belgian local groups with each over 30 active members: Ghent and Leuven.

As an organisation that continually tries to improve itself, during the Presidents’ Meeting the work that has been done in the organisation is evaluated and the route map for the upcoming months is drawn.

On the first day of our President’s Meeting, on the 6th November, the Official Opening Day takes place in Brussels. The Official Opening Day is a unique, international networking event.

It gathers the presidents of all local groups, the management of BEST, members of international working teams, organizers of the event. There will also be an opportunity for +- 50 local students of Ghent University and Leuven University to attend the event.

Presidents’ Meeting 2015

The participants of the Presidents’ Meeting are all students or recent graduates.

Most of them have a large technical background and are active members of BEST, meaning they have the skills and the mindset to start their career in an ambitious and international environment.

Additionally, a number of local members of the BEST groups of Leuven and Ghent will be present. External students from other universities in Belgium will also be invited.

In short, those present will be a diverse group of motivated and talented students looking for a challenging job in an international setting.

Participants’ Profile

During the Official Opening Day, your company will have the opportunity to have personal contact with 200 highly motivated engineering students.You will have the possibility to con-duct interviews with interesting stu-dents. After the job fair we can provide you with the CV’s of all the attendants. In this way you will be able to contact them afterwards.

Partner companies can lead a workshop based on the company’s interests. The workshop may last up to two hours and can be for selected participants.

This is the ideal chance to give the students insight in the working methods of your company. This can be done through a case study, engineering competition or a busi-ness game.

As a partner company you have the opportunity to introduce your company to all 200 high profile BEST delegates. This can be done by a presentation or a speech and is an ideal way to show top Euro-pean engineering students what your company could offer them.

Promotional partners will be presented on all promotional materi-al for the Official Opening Day 2015. This includes:

-Two pages in the event booklet.-Your logo on the official banner.-Your logo on the website of the event.

President’s Meeting STatisticsThe twentieth BEST Presidents’ meeting of 2014 in Gdansk welcomed 180 students in science, technology or managment and 150 extra local students selected on their profile.
