As you are aware, on March 13th the MASSC board voted to suspend all Spring programming until further notice. We are not certain when it will be safe to resume our usual events. The Jewelry District Tour was postponed, the date is TBA. The Metals Challenge Luncheon is postponed, date TBA. The Metals Challenge Deadline for submissions has been extended to May 26th-29th. For more information or for any questions please email Ketarah Shaffer <[email protected]> It’s very possible that our Summer Mixer will also be cancelled for the year. Slowing the spread of this dangerous disease should be everybody’s top priority and we need to especially protect those who are most vulnerable. I know that this is a trying time for all of us, as we face this strange and unprecedented quarantine situation. MASSC understands the importance of keeping its members safe, and is trying to provide what programming we can, in a virtual interface. We have begun making all of our Board Meetings available on ZOOM and had quite a positive response at the past meeting. It was even followed by a short twisted wire demo by myself, Angelina Ciulik, and we are hoping to provide more interesting and regular demonstrations and follow-along-type workshop experiences. We understand not everybody is able to work from home. We are also encouraging members to ZOOM into a “Show Your Stuff” Meet’n Greet Zoom Meeting. This is a chance to show either something you are currently working on, or something you have made in the past. I am very excited to announce an upcoming demonstration by one of our Board Members at Large, Erin Proctor, on May 8th at noon. Erin will be showing us her very fancy table-top CNC engraver. See upcoming online events below. Please stay smart, healthy and safe. If we can’t see you in person, we hope sincerely to see you during one of our upcoming ZOOM events! ~ Angelina
