Thiswasbroughthometomeagainrecently,whenIattendedtheIITPSAWesternCapeChapter
AGM.Ihadjustmissedmydeadlinetoregisterforfurtherstudies,andImentionedmydisappointment
tofellowIITPSAmemberswhilenetworkingattheAGM.Loandbehold,theyhadinformationthat
enabledmetoenrollformyMaster’sinITGovernanceatNelsonMandelaUniversityingoodtime,
andthreedayslater,myprofessionaldevelopmentplanswerebackontrack!
HadInothadaccesstothenetwork,orreachedoutandtoldpeopleofmychallenge,myfurtherstudy
ambitionsfortheyearwouldhavebeenderailed.ConsideringthatIITPSAhasmorethan10000
membersacrossthecountry,thescopeoftheproblemsthatcanbeovercome,andtheprofessional
developmentgoalsthatcanbefast-trackedthroughnetworkinginthisforumisimmense.It’s
essentiallythebrainstrustofSouthAfrica’sITindustry,andeveryonepresentateveryeventhas
informationofvaluetocontribute.Butthisinformationisonlyaccessibleifyoureachoutandengage,
networkandshareknowledge.
