Thanks to all Weybridge residents for looking out for their neighbors over the winter months.

McMillan Paving Company will be sealing our driveways this summer. We have discussed our concerns about blending the newly paved strip at the end of all driveways with the old pavement. They will do their best to blend the two areas, the color difference will be minimal.

The spring property inspection by your trustees is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2nd, at 6:00 PM. This walk-around is done to maintain the standards outlined in the Muirfield Handbook, the Weybridge W arranty Deed, and Code of Regulations.

This duty of the board is the first step leading to the enforcement of these legal home owner’s association documents. The trustees attempt to notify you of any deterioration in your property or landscape which may eventually lead to a code violation, or is already a violation. We try to give a friendly letter before an actual violation notice is required. The discrepancies noted are the unanimous interpretation of your five trustees. The board is working on a resident handbook which will give guidelines and clarify some of the differences between the Weybridge and Muirfield standards.

For instance, Weybridge has additional standards on vehicle parking, and open garage doors that aren’t part of the Muirfield regulations.

You might want to do your own building and grounds walk-around before May 2nd to see if you spot things we look for on the building like: faded, chalky, or peeling paint, deteriorated roofing; bent or leaking gutters; moldy or rotting siding; loose or missing chimney mortar or flashing; garage door damage, cloudy windows. Landscape issues could include: dead trees or bushes; overgrown conditions; removed but not replaced plants; broken or missing walkways; unauthorized ornamentation or sculptures.

NOTE: In the past, no approval was needed if you were painting your house exterior the same color. These colors are kept on file in the Muirfield office under your lot number. But recently we found out that many records are out of date. So, even when re-painting with a matching color, please submit a Weybridge Design Change request with the manufacturer’s name and color.

These standards documents are available on our website. If you can’t access them, or do not have copies, call me for the Weybridge documents. The Muirfield handbook can be obtained from the Muirfield Association office.

To reduce costs, trustees discussed ending our engagement with the law firm of Kaman & Cusimano. They have done a great job for us:

training us to be better Trustees and providing text for handbooks and website. However, continuation of this service requires an annual retainer fee. We have decided to switch to Allen, Kuehnle, Stovall, & Neuman LLP, a nationally recognized local firm, without an annual retainer.

A question came to the Weybridge Board about the green or blue lights on some of the homes in our neighborhood. The green light is a symbol of appreciation and support for our active military, and veterans. The blue light is a symbol of appreciation and support for law enforcement officers across our nation. The Weybridge Board reviewed the Muirfield handbook guidelines and these lights are not in violation.

Our friendly residents make the neighborhood a wonderful place to live.

Landscape Reportby Brent KleihauerW [email protected] (614) 376-0671/ 9396 Muirkirk

Thank you all for submitting the Landscape Questionnaires. If you have not returned your form by March 1, you are requesting all service options listed on the questionnaire, and stating that you have no sprinkler system, nor invisible fence. If this is not the case, please get in touch with me ASAP.

Our unusually warm winter enabled Brightview to do their “spring” clean-up in late January, they are now on a normal schedule for the most part.

Here are some coming projects:

EDGING OF BEDS AND TREE RINGS: This activity will take place March 22nd at the earliest.

TURF FERTILIZATION AND WEED CONTROL:Brightview uses TruGreen to perform this service. An email notice will be sent one week prior to the first application scheduled between March 13 and April 23.

TURF AERATION: To be performed around mid- April on all front lawns. Rear lawns receive aeration in the fall. Aeration enhances water percolation, fertilizer efficiency, oxygen exchange, and root development. It is done just before the first

mowing. Subsequent mowing helps break up the clods. The first mowing will be late March or early April.

Please use flags (also available on my front stoop) to mark the location of sprinkler heads. Brightview will repair sprinkler heads which they damage.

PRUNING OF TREES AND SHRUBS: This service will be performed in May. if you do not want certain shrubs or trees trimmed, and did not specify on the questionnaires, you are welcome to the supply of ribbon on my front stoop, to mark “no-trim” shrubs.

MULCHING OF BEDS: In May, prior to the Memorial tournament, all beds and tree rings will be mulched by hand, with a Custom Brown, double shredded, hardwood mulch.

If you need more detail on any of these projects, or have any landscape questions, please call or email. Have a beautiful Spring!
