Collection: Majorettes spring-summer 2010

Collection: Super Furry Animals autum-winter 2009-2010

Collection: Porcelana spring-summer 09

Outlandish printings of porcelain are out of context to create avant-garde urban articles, coats with ample holes in the back, shirts with different necks, and ingenious fabrics mixtures (lin-en, cotton, silk and viscose) are the keys of the new collection spring-summer 2009.Another newness is the golden details in buttons and chains, the mini hand bags holding three by three

Collection: Hermanos Bunker Fall Winter 08-09

The story of Eng and Chang Bunker, the first documented Siamese brothers, is the point from where they start to create this collection.

About the colours, the ones which predominate are the Far West sand tones: ochres, oranges and terracotta mixed with yellow and blue marine as a contrast. Camel skin wool, mohair, leather are pre-sented as their fetish materials in this collection.

The ankle-length pleated trousers, the patchwork shirts adorned with huge plaits and the oversized pull-overs stand out.

Collection: Dreamland spring-summer 08

In September 2007 El Delgado Buil was awarded again in Cibeles with the colletion Dreamland. The main colours in this new proposal are the orange, yellow and the electric blue. The garments are very versatile and incorporate zips to make them shorter.

They play with the material contrast such us the transparency and delicacy of chiffon with the hardness of a zipper in the same gar-ment. A collection that includes all kind of garments: leather shawls with long and wide fringes, maxi bags, micro shorts, long trench coats made with ethereal materials, extra long vests and shinny leggings

Collection: My family goes to Oklahoma Fall Winter 07-08

With this collection El Delgado Buil won the L’Oreal Award for the best collection of young designers.

Although inspired in the American West aesthetic, its most remark-able characteristic is the minimalist colour palette where the white stands out. Real and printed fringes as well as family pictures printed are a tribute to its name. The contrast of volumes; tight trousers with oversized garments; also have an important role.

Collection: Black Friday Fall Winter 06-07

The name of this collection, Black Friday, reflects through its materi-als and prints the terror and chaos of a black Friday.Dark coloured parka jackets with printed Dracula scenes stand out. The tones, in this case, appeared to be very contrasted.Another star garment is the vinyl tight trouser designed to be tightened to the body and so enhance the silhouette.

The forbidden planet, the worlds war, Gozira, Boris Karlov and Bela Lugosi have a date on a black Friday.

Collection: Las Vegas Spring Summer 06

This collection is stared in by delicate and summery tones and materi-als. The touch of colour is given by the bright metallic which gives a kitsch appearance to the whole set and prints that show in a fresh way the rich imaginary of Nevada.

Collection: Crazy Kids Fall Winter 05 -06

This collection stands out for its tailor’s garments that remind us the school uniforms thanks to the traditional materials and the sober co-lours. Inside the same line have been created looks were you can ap-preciate sportive references with childish drawings with an evolution up to the puberty.

What the experts say

*** El Delgado Buil, itself, doesn’t expect from Cibeles a better 2008 than the last one, “because last year is very difficult to improve”, says Anna with catalan prudence while referring to the two L’Oreal Awards that decorate their workshop. They started with a nice plasticine enter-tainment short about the Banker brothers, the first documented Sia-mese. A job from videoartist Xavier Carbonell for which they gave out 700 two-colour 3D glasses to the public, like in the famous pictures from J.R. Eyerman for Life maga-zine. For the first time there are no prints, a fact that whether it was looked for or not, brought matu-rity to the set of clothes. For the third consecutive edition they have shined again over the rest.

Lucas Arraut, The EP3 respon-sable

*** Finally it was necessary the ar-rival of the Spanish fashion puppy’s to save Cibeles. And it is not an ex-aggeration. After few days charac-terised by the dandruff and bore-dom, the evening started with two exciting shows from two veteran designers, and it finished with the stands full of people looking for-ward to see what El Delgado Buil and Carlos Díez had created. (…) Then it was El Delgado Buil’s turn. With an unusual creative-commer-cial mind the designer’s duet had a strong beginning with a 3D presen-tation. The Bunker brother’s and Yates sister’s story is the excuse to present a collection in which the point, the autumn colours, the an-kle boots and a warm and naïf air were the main notes. They are still one of the increasing values inside the Spanish fashion scene. If so, they are the most charming design-ers of Cibeles.

Jordi Minguell, Journalist of EP3

*** Anna and Macarena, El Del-gado Buil, is like one of those wiz-ard’s trunks that seems to have no ending and from where they do not stop taking out amazing surprises. Collection after collection they have defied themselves, improved, evolved and looked for new forms and sensations, and the result from their “short” experience in fashion (three years that have been like a full life with them) is a proposal for next winter with a surprising sound-ness that opens the brand’s target to new and potential customers, to a more conservative public. A more mature and sybarite collection, for people with a classic taste but who believe in modernity. “We might be becoming antiquated” the design-ers tell us with their usual sense of humour when asked about this evo-lution. “We have always loved the classic. What is more, many times classic is fro us the most modern. As always, we have done what we have wanted”.

In this edition they have been matched in the catwalk with Carlos Diez Diez, in an insolent attempt to create an authentic and surpris-ing bomb of modernism. “We love

Carlos a lot. That is why have done the show with him it ahs been a pleasure. Towards Carlos and all his wonderful team (Juanma, Alvaro, Pablo…) we only have nice words. Between both teams we have had a lot of complicity. We even asked each other about some models”.

It is obvious that a collection such as the one that they have created it has been a great pleasure, but as sensible girls that they are, they do not put a limit in their creative side but also appreciate their business evolution. “It is the first collection that we have been able to finance ourselves and we are so proud about it”. It will not have been easy for them to combine the creation of the collection with other projects such us the creation of the uniforms for the EME Hotel in Sevilla that they have just delivered. “Now we are leaving to Paris to sell “Bunker brothers/Yates sisters” so it means that our next objective is to have a lot of orders”. When things are well done it should not be a handicap to be young.

Agustín Velasco, journalist of centromodaonline.com

versatile and happy garments that have humorous drops and that talk about superpositions, very elabo-rated details, zips that you cannot guess whether they go up or down, come or leave.

It has been the change from a rev-elation to a more than interesting reality, thanks to a perfect manu-facture in their designs and a very clear idea about what do they want to do and how to make it. More than a vanguard these girls are pure nonconformity.

Jesús María Montes-Fernán-dez, fashion specialised jour-nalist of TVE

*** Exit has not abandon Anna and Macarena since their first steps at the Barcelona Circuit, right after they had finished their studies at the ESDI school in July 2004. They are talented and their work is ap-preciated. Focused since the begin-

ning on male clothes, their point of view about masculinity won fans from both genders, thanks to the detail richness and an air between the romantic and the naïf of their collections. An allure of innocence that identifies the aesthetics of a whole generation in the vanguard catwalks. They already have two L’Oreal Awards and they have just started. The journey of this firm with comic name, El Delgado Buil sounded to them something like “El bueno de Cutlas”. A great expecta-tion.

Charo Mora, fashion spe-cialised journalist

*** Leaving apart the -sometimes- annoying poster of emergent de-signers, El Delgado Buil has en-tered into the Spanish fashion commercial circuit through the big door. If at Circuit 11 we already checked their “Crazy Kids” collec-tion, we have nearly tracked their meteoric career until they won in two occasions –and In a consecu-tive way- the L’Oreal Award to the best novel collection at Cibeles cat-walk. Their aseptic and trash world

dominated by the volumetric con-trast and the kitsch culture made in USA transform their underground background in a hopeful pill for our country’s fashion. For it, is not weird that we predict them a good future in Paris.

Victoria Zárate, editor in chief of the Tendencias magazine

What the experts say

*** For the good things it is always worth it to wait. That is why the Madrid Fashion Week has kept until the end this pair of talents: El Delgado Buil and Carlos Díez Díez, who have showed together again getting ovations from their fans. They are, without any doubt, the coolest that we can find in the Cibeles catwalk,

El Delgado Buil’s proposal starts with a 3D video –what a retro mo-ment to check that everybody is wearing the blue and red glasses- that introduces a collection which combines colours and materials in a masterly sequence. The lemon yel-low tones acquire new dimensions, contrasted with a range of orange, pumpkin and cream, reaching the most absolute coherence in the combinations that, on a first sight, seem impossible.

The trousers –both for women and

men- present patterns from the 80’s meaning pleated baggy trousers a little bit ankle-length. The superpo-sition combines cold high-tech ma-terials with other materials with a biggest capacity to keep warm. The leather raincoats with plaited end-ings are superposed with other thin fake leather garments, giving as a result an original and interesting combination. The collection also presents coats with unusual cocoon silhouette volumes that expand over the hips for contracting, after it, in a very unusual way until the ankles.

It is a pity that the organisation cannot award the L’Oreal Award consecutively to the same designer because, truly, they deserve it.

Pedro Zoraya, journalist of Vogue.es

*** There is something about El Delgado Buil that makes the differ-ence towards other designers from their same generation and with the same deceitful etiquette of “young designers” that they always carry out. Here concur their maturity, their lack of prejudices, their risk capacity, their ability for mixing

up colours, textures or references, their spontaneity, their irrefutable originality or the fact that they understand the meaning of the word “collection” far away from its meaning of a half-yearly exam. But what really makes the difference is an almost extraordinary capacity for understanding the context in where they have to live, to pick up the zeitgeist, the spirit of our times. With other words: I like them be-cause they are contemporary. Be-cause even their retro concessions are perfectly actual. And because, even identifying myself with many of the references that I think in-spire them, in some way the work it to give to the whole set an un-usual, strange, new and fresh result. Moreover, they are not only a joke neither a one day flower. I cannot see their expiration date anywhere. El Delgado Buil do things that you want to possess, to wear, to keep… ¡buy! And actually you can do it.

Lucas Arraut, The EP3 respon-sable

*** Although they are impulsive fashion elements, it seemed impos-sible to introduce concepts such as

“youth” and “street” in the burgess Spanish catwalks. El Delgado Buil has been one of the first Spanish firms that have achieved it. They had their first opportunities at the mythic Barcelona Circuit catwalk, in little time they conquered Ma-drid, winning during two following editions the L’Oreal Award for the best collection of a young designer in Cibeles. ¿The formula? I guess that it is something as simple as be-ing coherent with the historic mo-ment that we are living; it means the creation of garments that re-flect the creative contemporary trends and the new lifestyles, gar-ments that are a witness of the an evolving generation. But the key of the recognition of El Delgado Buil are the “ideas”, good, simple and direct ideas. At the end a design is just this, a good idea.

Ramón Fano, Director of Neo2 magazine

*** Since they first appeared in the fashion apparel three years ago, El Delgado Buil has not stop to grow up its concept, image and develop-ment of the firm, a great new for the present times. They look for
