Parenting boost for Hammersmith and Fulham

A new three year parenting programme will be coming to Hammersmith and Fulham thanks to a

300,000 grant award from Big Lotterys Reaching Communities Fund to develop an extensive

parenting partnership project from the Masbro Centre.

The Parenting Partnership is an innovative project that will support a minimum of 345 parents to

These evidence based parenting groups, known to have significant positive impacts on families

empowerment through increasing their ability to manage their childs behaviour and support their

development. The project will go on to train and support a minimum of 36 empowered parents to

run their own parent groups themselves, in their own neighbourhoods, creating a network of

    sustainable support for families.

Urban Partnership Group has been co-ordinating parenting support in Hammersmith and Fulham

since 2008 through the Parenting Co-ordinator Service, a project funded by both the London

Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and the John Lyons Trust. This successful project, based

will build on this expertise, allowing Urban Partnership Group to offer targeted support via outreac

Urban Partnership Group is proud of the positive work they have undertaken with children and

families in Hammersmith and Fulham for many years, including the Masbro Childrens Centre and

Masbro Youth Club services, and would like to thank the Big Lottery for recognising this positive

work through the offer of this grant. We look forward to being able to expand and strengthen this

positive work through the Parenting Partnership project.

Ellie Suggate Parenting Projects Manager at the Masbro centre said We are absolutely delighted

with the award. This is a real boost to parents in the Borough. Good parenting can be a game
