FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MORE2SCREEN APPOINTED BY EAGLE ROCK TO DISTRIBUTE QUEEN CONCERT MOVIE TO DIGITAL CINEMAS WORLDWIDE
Issued London, UK – 10am Wednesday 27 June 2012 More2Screen has been appointed by Eagle Rock Entertainment to distribute momentous concert
movie Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live In Budapest ’86 to digital cinemas worldwide (ex–
Canada and Japan) from 20 September 2012. Remastered in high definition and 5.1 surround
sound, this special cinema event includes 25 minutes of never–before–seen footage following
legends of rock, Queen, from just after their legendary performance at Live Aid through the year
leading up to the concert in Budapest. This will be Queen gold dust for the band’s millions of fans
across the world: they can dress up, sing along and be part of this celebration of Queen’s
enduring global appeal.
On 27 July 1986 Queen performed the largest concert ever staged at the Nepstadium, Budapest,
in front of 80,000 ecstatic fans. With three years to go before the fall of the Berlin Wall and
Hungary still in effect ‘behind the Iron Curtain’, the concert was of such significance to the
Hungarian authorities that a group of Hungary’s top film cameramen and technicians were
brought together to record it.
The resulting concert film features many of Queen’s favourite tracks including Bohemian
Rhapsody, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, I Want To Break Free and We Are The Champions. The
concert was part of the hugely successful Magic Tour that, poignantly, was Freddie Mercury’s last
tour with the band.
Christine Costello, Managing Director, More2Screen comments: “We’re delighted to be working
with Eagle Rock Entertainment again, and to have the opportunity to bring this fantastic Queen
concert movie to digital cinemas worldwide. No one needs to be told that Queen is one of the all-‐
time greatest live bands ever and of course we all know that magnificent catalogue of songs.
But fans are in for even more of a treat with the additional, never–before–seen documentary
footage of the band after their show–stealing performance at Live Aid in 1985. “
Andrew Winter of Eagle Rock Entertainment, says of the collaboration with More2Screen:
“Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live In Budapest ’86 showcases one of the world’s most successful
bands staging one of the biggest stadium concerts ever held in Eastern Europe which will make
this a truly special cinema event for fans. More2Screen has a proven track record in taking
alternative content like this to their digital cinema partners worldwide and knows how to make it
