PINE TAPERED POLES

If a treated pole or post is planted in the ground it is essential that you allow for drainage of rainwater.

Do not enclose the planted end of the post in the concrete.

If you need to use concrete then let the concrete form a collar around the post with the end protruding through the concrete.

If you plant the post on concrete at the bottom of the hole, let theconcrete set before planting the post

CORRECT METHOD OF PLANTING POLESSABS 457 specification states that tapered poles are classed

(measured) on the THIN end of the pole only.

A 80-99mm pole will measure between 80mm and 99mm on the

THIN end.

The thick end is not measured and may be thicker due to natural taper of timber poles which varies.

Below is a list of stock size trellis which we endeavor to keep in stock at all times. The stock trellis is available in the rough pine, planed pine or gum latte finish all with 100mm gaps.

The trellises are CCA pressure treated for resistance to borer, rot and fungal infections. We do advise you to coat your trellis with a suitable wood-seal or wood-coat.

All available in 2meter lengths and we advise that at least a third of the height you would like above ground to be below ground. For a longer lasting product we advise applying wood-

seal or wood-coat to the edging.
