OVERVIEWI sent out a Microsoft form survey to my peers to gain

knowledge in what my target audience would like to see

from an Instagram blog with city lifestyle and fashion

themes. I also sent this survey out to see what an audience

thinks on how a page can gain a following and

engagement with an audience based on known factors and

conventions that I know would help with this, and also

what they think personally would help gain these things.

I had 23 respondents to this survey.

I asked this question because it isimportant to have the opinion of peoplewho have Instagram accounts because

they are using the app often and obviouslyknow how to use the app. Most Instagramusers have an idea on how to gain likes(because that is the main objective on

Instagram). If you do not have an accountyou are less likely to know what to do to

gain likes but either way it is good to havea different perspective from

someone/people who don’t have one.

1/23 don’t (4%). This meansthat the majority of

respondents can give anaccurate answer to my

I asked this question because I needto know what my target audience

would follow and what would makethem press the follow button on an

account. This is important because Ineed to build a following on my

account. I suggested a few themes inwhich the respondents can select butalso included an 'other' option for a

I asked this question to find out what would make mytarget audience like a post by an Instagram page. Thisis important because I need to gain likes on my blogsposts. I offered the respondents options once again topick what they feels suits them. I have also given an'other' option again so I can receive a more accurate

I needed to know this because I don't want mytarget audience to not follow and like my blog. I

used open questions for this to get a moreaccurate answer from my respondents. A more

honest and descriptive answer. I understandthat respondents can be lazy when it comes to

answering open questions but thiswas necessary.

The information I have got from this open question is overall useful butthere are some pointless answers that either are irrelevant to the

question, one worded or are telling me the opposite to the question athand. Even though some of the answers were irrelevant to the question Iasked, they could be useful for the question 'what would make you follow

an Instagram page'. I did find the majority of the answers useful, now Iknow what my target audience doesn't want to see on my page.

This information is useful to me because it shows me how my targetaudience follows accounts and what they find important to keep

following the page. From these answers I gather that good and constantcontent is the key to keeping my target audiences follow on Instagram. I

have also found my TA likes to follow accounts that look good(aesthetically pleasing).

They have also said shout outs helps you gain followers, and usingrelevant hashtags can help you gain a following. But the main thing that

has been said is that having an active, aesthetically pleasing accountand having good content is the main things that can get you a following

on Instagram from my audiences perspective.

The information I have gathered from this is that my

target audience thinks the most important things thatcan help you gain likes on Instagram are having

good content, good editing, hashtags and time ofday you post the picture. This is useful for me

because I now know what my target audience thinksabout gaining likes on a post. Some of the answers

are pointless like 'same as above' and'RECENTRECENTRECENTRECENTRECENT'. These

answers will be discarded.
