to that country. Include a short

What do people have to think about
before getting a pet? Where will the
pet sleep? Who will feed it?
Why is it important to look after pets?
Draw your pet, or a pet you have seen
in the video. Can you draw where the
pet lives?
The Queen loves horses and dogs. She owns and breeds corgis and a cross-breed between corgis and dachshunds, which is called a ‘dorgi’.
How pets help us. Why do you think dogs are so good at
helping people?
Can you think of other animals that
help people in different ways?
Write a description of your ideal pet
— what characteristics would it have,
and why?
Selective breeding. Which different dog breeds do you
know? What are their similarities and
differences?
What is selective breeding, and why
do people choose to cross-breed
dogs?
Compare two different breeds of dog.
Write down their differences and
their similarities. In which situations
might certain features be practical?

known as Gillies' Balls.
