The live bands performing every night provide the best selection of classical tunes f rom Soul to Pop, Jazz o r Bossa Nova. Here we are! It’s the final run towards the end of a year full of excitement, c h a l l e n g e s a n d s u c c e s s -f u l a c h i e v e m e n t s . O v e r the past few years, Pr imo has become one of South Bank’s hottest spots to enjoy great cocktails and listen to live music.

This year we’ve had many talented singers, bands and performers. We were even delighted to see some of them going far in national TV

competitions such as X Factor or The Voice UK. Winter is here now and even though the weather is getting colder, London is still buzzing with life and offering great events for people to go to. Here are some of my favourite things to do this winter: Get into the festive spirit on the South Bank’s Christmas market, or get your ice skates on at some of London’s coolest ice rinks!

Finally, I really wanted to thank all the artists for their hard work and commitment to make PRIMO one of London’s rare venues where you can listen to quality live music for free throughout the week. But above all I wanted to thank all our guests who have joined in to celebrate this successful venue.

I have recently joined Primo bar team after 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry working in a variety of venues in England and abroad.

I share the vision of Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London of surprising and del ight ing our Zvaluable guests. My team of amaz-ing mixologists and caring lounge attendants are working hard to make you feel relaxed at any time of

the day. Our cocktail of the month for November is a Grapefruit Sour providing a welcome boost for this cold time of the year. You will find the recipe on page 16. Our December cocktail is a delightfully warming Orange Marmalade Martini. If you are joining us for an expertly prepared artisan tea or an innovative cocktail I look forward to welcoming you to PRIMO Bar this winter.

ZalonZalon is a soulful singer, making you fall in love with music again. Many recognise him as the lead backing vocalist to Amy Winehouse, contributing to the phenomenal platinum success, historical five Grammies win, plus an accolade of awards. Singing a longs ide some o f the wor ld ’s biggest artists, has led him to being photographed and interviewed by the media all over the world. Divyarup’s Latin BandDivyarup’s Latin Band is a lively three piece band playing original samba, bossa nova, baiao, funk and Latin jazz. They have all gained experience having performed at a variety of venues in London and worldwide. Divyarup has recently been nominated at the Brazilian International Press Awards for his album Tempo de Luz recorded in Brazil with well known artists including Bocato, Sergio Bello and Madan.Divyarup’s Latin Band will bring joy and celebration!

Henrietta AdewoleHenrietta is a singer/songwriter with a huge vocal and outstanding tone. Her voice con-sists of Soul, Jazz and Bluesy elements, which make her even more unique. Her voice emu-lates the likes of old school singers. Henrietta made it to the 2014 live semi finals of Britain’s Got Talent and impressed Simon Cowell with her “World class performance”. Since the competition Henrietta has been in high demand and performed all around London.

Louise GolbeyLouise Golbey is a singer / songwriter/ musician - she’s played at Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight festival, recorded at Maida Vale Studios for the BBC and supported and shared the stage with a number of acclaimed artists including Ed Sheeran, Katy B, Jessie J, George Benson, Alexander O’Neal and most recently she opened for Roberta Flack at The Indig02. She performs regularly at Ronnie Scott’s and The Jazz Cafe.

Jesse GamageJesse is a soul singer/songwriter from hailing from London, England, who provides smooth soulful vocals complemented by warm melodies drawn from inf luences from the likes of Marvin Gaye to David Gray. Jesse works with a band of strong passionate musicians.

SJ has over 20 years experience in the music industry and toured the world as ‘’Baby Doc & SJ’. Later she was known as one of the pioneers of the 90’s dance scene. Her love of jazz has never left her and her husky, velvet tones continue to enrapture audiences everywhere. Performing alongside the hugely talented Maurizio Minardi.

Kate ThrefallKate Threfall is a soulful young singer songwriter who incorporates a love of Jazz, Soul and many things in between in her honest and warm songs at the piano.Born in Manchester to wonderfully musi-cal parents and a family of performers, Kate was raised learning the piano and cello, finding her love for singing around the age of eight when she was introduced to Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin amongst many more.

Sophie Morgan & Charlie BrownSophie Morgan is a 17 year old singer, songwriter, pianist, guitarist from Widnes – a town in between Manchester and Liverpool.Simon Jones from the iconic band ‘The Verve’ and Davide Rossi, Grammy award-winning string arranger, are cur-rently producing her tracks for Sophie’s debut album and directing her band. So-phie recently won a ‘Counting Crows’ in-ternational competition in the USA which was judged by the band themselves.

Rosanna BrandiBorn in the South of Italy, Rosanna started her singing studies in Bari, and completed a Diploma in Jazz singing in 2005 at Accademia Internazionale della Musica in Milan, studying with renowned jazz singer Tiziana Ghiglioni. Her musical taste doesn’t s top at jazz, in fact she collaborated with the Philarmonia Chorus in the recording “Mahler S y m p h o n y N o 2 ” d i r e c t e d b y B e n j a m i n Z a n d e r , a n d performed it at Royal Festival Hall under the direction of Esa-Pekka-Sa-lonen.

Kristin HoseinSinging professionally for over ten years both as a lead and backing vocalist, Kristin Hosein has excellent harmony and vocal arrangement skills. Stylistically versatile, Kristin t ra ined in contemporary music performance at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, and now tours internationally with sell out acts, whilst balancing her time in the studio with writing and recording as a session artist.

Cocktail Of The MonthGrapefruit Sour

Ingredients:Quarter of a grapefruitHalf a lime 12 mint leaves35ml vodka25ml Cointreau

20ml grenadine

Method:

Muddle the grapefruit and lime in a mixing glass. Add all remaining ingredients and shake over ice. Using a fine strainer, strain into an Old Fashioned glass over crushed ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint and slices of grapefruit.

Vibrant and original, Jazz Mino is an emerging London based artist, singer-songwriter and covers musician. The young talent captivates her audience with catchy melodies, charismatic charm and odd shoes. Jazz Mino was a finalist in the Mayor of London GIGS Big Busk competi-tion, is currently a finalist in Westfield’s THE CUBE competition, and regularly gigs and busks around London. Some of her more recent gigs include Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Bar, Aspers Casino and Westfield Presents. She is currently recording her debut EP, which is due to be released early 2015.

Forest Jazz Forest Jazz is a nifty little trio based in London, serving up known and loved jazz standards. Louise Nornes heads up the trio with heartfelt vocals. She fell in love with London’s pulsating jazz scene when moving from her native Norway five years ago. Paul and Susie Geeson add vibrant bass and tinkling of the ivories to the mix. After studying jazz at Middlesex University, Susie embarked on a teaching career, whilst Paul played for world-re-nowned musicians such as Stacey Kent.

Iona ThomasOriginally harking from Wales, Iona is a multitalented singer, songwriter, guitarist and harpist. With an already impressive selection of appearances and credits including; headlining the “Young Hero Awards” for Scarlets FM and The Bay Radio, Thomas will also be supporting X-Factor finalists “The Reason” and “Andy Abraham” on their upcoming engagements.

Dolce Vita projectNero Martini is a newly formed group of styl ish and talented male Ital ian singers - Dario Polmonari, Gianluca De Martini and Valerio di Rocco. Alba & Karme DuoAlba Plano is a soulful vocalist with a particular jazz tone. Aged 16, she moved her direction to Jazz and Bossa Nova and started her Jazz training inspired by Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. She now offers a perfect blend of Jazz and Neo Soul.

Since the competition Henrietta has been in high demand and performed all around London.

The girls all trained together at The London School of Musical Theatre and have now created a niche vocal act fusing the sounds of Jazz and pop with a 1940’s barber shop twist on top. Chris RoyalSinger songwriter born and raised in Manchester, Chris has been singing all his life and is heavily influenced by soul jazz and gospel. Despite no musical background in his family Chris knew his place was on the stage whether in theatre or popular music. Chris was fortunate to be part of the success of Channel 4’s Musicool, and he has worked with touring with artists opening for acts such as Neyo and T-Pain not to mention touring with Josh Groban as a backing vocalist for his sold out UK tour. Now he lives in London where he is currently working his first EP.

Alessia Piermarini is an Italian singer, songwrit-er, pianist, loop artist, blogger, and urban poet. Musically her work is full of elements of Soul, Jazz and Hip hop. She recorded her first solo album in 2008 (PG Major 7) and opened for Ursula Rucker, considered “Poet of Nu Soul”. Last year Ales-sia had the honor to share the stage with the afro-american artist Frank McComb. Her second album is due to be released soon: on one of her songs she features the great Jaguar Wright, Nu Soul vocalist who collaborated with The Roots and Jay-Z.
