September 2016
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!
As you can see from the picture renovations have started. This will be an exciting yet
challenging next couple of years. Our goal is to keep the students , parents and com-
munity informed during this process. To date the bus parking lot will be resurfaced
and a working compounded established on Kenmoore Ave. The old ELSB portables
have been removed from the building. As we continue to move forward with plan-
ning and construction, it is necessary for us to also plan for the 2016-2017 school
year. The logistics plan for construction has indicated that in order to stay on sched-
ule for both renovations, and demolition/site cleanup of Three Oaks Senior High
School, a proposal for early closure for Three Oaks Senior High School is necessary.
Therefore Three Oaks Senior High School will be closing June 9th at the end of the
day for the 2016/17 school year. This means exams for second semester will be as
follows:
Second Semester Exams
June 5 - Block A Assessment
June 6 - Block B Assessment
June 7 - Block C Assessment
June 8 - Block D Assessment
June 9 - Secondary Math Assessment
Sincerely
Jeff Clow

Athletics
Representing our school in athletic activities is a privilege that students must accept
with a full sense of responsibility and pride. Being an ambassador of our school, it is
expected that our students project a positive image throughout their extra-curricular
involvement in the school and in the community. This accepted kind of behaviour and
attitude is expected to be shown in the classroom and general school area, as well as
on the sporting field/activity area. A Code of Conduct which addresses issues such as
academics, part-time employment, fundraising, uniforms/equipment, smoking/alcohol
and other drug use, activity areas, practices, overlapping sport seasons, and outside
activities will be available for all student athletes and parents/guardians to read and
sign.

Attendance
The most important thing a Senior High School student can do to ensure success is to
have regular attendance in every one of his/her classes. There are activities and dis-
cussions which occur in classes that simply cannot be replicated, there is instruction
on high level topics that is never the same as getting the notes from a friend and
there are curriculum objectives that can only be achieved through participation. Our
attendance policy is that we require a phone call or e-mail from a parent/guardian to
excuse a student for any reason, whether it be for an entire or partial school day or
for one Period of class. Please help us by communicating a student’s absence, or an
excused late arrival to school.
Please see Student Handbook for detailed information regarding Attendance
