The Dragon Dash is coming! On Saturday, October 21st (2-4pm), our kids will be running, walking, skipping, dancing, and exercising their way around a short course in our biggest fundraiser of the year. To register, go to: http://www.olney.myfunrun.com. Once you've registered, you'll be emailed a link that you can send to family and friends who wish to donate. Parents and siblings are welcome to participate for a $5 registration fee.
Credit Card donations can be made online (fees involved). To donate by check, go to the child's page on www.olney.myfunrun.com, click on Student Resources box at the bottom of the page and choose Offline Donation. Enter the name and amount and it will count toward your child's donations tally.
Checks should be made payable to "OES PTA." Be sure to include your child's name and teacher
either in the memo line or on an attached piece of paper. Please send them into school with your child as soon as possible. Donors who need to mail checks can send them directly to the school:

Donations will be accepted on the day of the Dragon Dash, but only checks received by Friday, October 20, will count toward the student total.
If you are unable to participate in the Dragon Dash due to a scheduling conflict or other reason, students are still invited to register and fundraise so that they can be eligible for the rewards and prizes. Please contact Lyn Pugh at [email protected] with any questions.

This is the Last Week for the Box Tops CONTEST!!!
GREAT JOB LAST YEAR COLLECTING BOX TOPS AND SENDING THEM INTO SCHOOL! Together we
earned our school almost $1000.00! Let’s try to double that this year!
To kick off the year, we will be having a contest again. From October 2nd through October 20th, let’s see which classes can collect the most box tops. There will be one classroom that wins per grade, so please send in as many box tops as you can during that time!!! The box tops can be sent in on a collection sheet (you can find them at WWW.BTFE.COM) or in a ziplock bag. There is a collection bag in each classroom where students can put the box tops. We can’t submit expired box tops, so if you have any of those, please just throw them out.
THE WINNING CLASSES WILL GET A REWARD
Also remember that we collect Labels for Education as well, so send those in with your box tops so we can earn free stuff for our school! The Labels for Education program is ending at the end of the calendar year so be sure to send any labels in as soon as possible!
Let Mamma Lucia do the cooking this Tuesday!
Take a break from cooking and grab lunch or dinner from Mamma Lucia while supporting our school at the same time. Stop by the Olney location anytime this Tuesday, October 17th for dine-
in or carryout. You must provide a hard copy of this flyer in order for the PTA to receive 20% of your purchase. There are a limited number of flyers available on the PTA bulletin board in the school's main entryway.

Let's Show that Dragon Spirit!
Please consider donating one of our new t-shirts to a member of our wonderful staff so they can show their school spirit, too. They work really hard each day to enhance our children's learning
experience both in and out of the classroom. Shirts are only $12. If you can help, please sign up here. Once you've signed up, please send a check (made payable to “OES PTA”) to school in an envelope labeled "PTA - Spirit Wear." Write the staff member's name in the memo of the check. The PTA will deliver the shirts with a note acknowledging the donor.
The PTA will also be selling shirts at the Dragon Dash this Saturday afternoon. We currently only have youth sizes available. If you are interested in purchasing an adult size (for yourself or an older student), please email your name, phone number and desired size (XS, S, M, L or XL) to Ana Awwad at [email protected] this week. We will consider ordering additional shirts only if there is a strong enough interest.
