at Sydney Olympic Park Lodge on the afternoon of Thursday 25th and attending planned events at the games on Friday 26th. An ‘expression of interest’ note will be handed out to students in the coming days. To help cover costs of the event, profits raised from the Scarecrow Day Stall (1st September) will be used. To assist in making this a successful fund raising experience we are asking parents and caregivers to donate cakes, slices, jams, chutney or relish to sell along with our ‘Homemade Lemonade’ it would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to donate produce but can donate some of your time to help on the day we will be needing volunteers to assist with set up of the stall and running of it throughout the day. Please contact Miss Chanelle Littler for any further details or if you are able to donate items to sell and/or your time on the day. Any help will make this day a great success! Thank you! Education Week All staff nominated students to be awarded for displaying the qualities that our school strive to achieve; Amina Shahid, Jensen Bettens, Jack Roser, Aaliyah Hussain, Camilla Teague, Mac Crowe, Elinor Brooks, Rory Cornall, Laurie Roche, Raya Talty, Zara Shahid, Archie Crowe, Thomas Hubbard, Ella Watson and Ayesha Hussain. SRN Numbers Each student will have their SRN number (REF number) attached to this newsletter. The SRN (Student Reference Number) will be required if you do internet banking transfers to the school to pay for accounts, excursions etc. Go to the school website, then go to make a payment. Newcastle Permanent Mathematics Competition Years 5 and 6 will be participating in this annual competition. Students will be given a range of questions. Taking time to read the instructions and to look for the questions that can be done confidently are strategies that you can talk to your children about so they have a positive approach to solving mathematical questions. The Great Book Swap This annual event is coinciding with our Book Week celebrations. For only a gold coin donation you can not only recycle your old books, but also know that you are helping reduce the poor literacy rates in remote indigenous communities. Mrs Crowe Book Week Celebrations - Find Your Treasure - Monday 20th August Looking forward to seeing all those book characters on Monday. It has been great to hear all the ideas the students already have.

Thank you parents for your support of this event.

Parents are more than welcome on Monday morning to join us first thing to see all the marvellous characters we will have at our school. Students, don’t forget to bring in your most treasured book P & C News Please note a change of date for the next P&C meeting. It is now 28th August at 6.00pm at Blandford Public School.
