Principal’s News Tuesday 3 September 2019
What a great morning we had last Friday, celebrating our fathers with the special breakfast. Thank you to
the P&C for again staging this great event, Tim McDonald for organising the food and BBQs and the
fathers and staff and Moruya HS students that helped prepare and serve the food. It was wonderful
having so many fathers visiting our school and I know there were a lot of cards collected off the boards
that the children had put some great thought into.
We are continuing our focus and commitment to student safety. I have put several messages in the
Scoop over the year about the safe ways students enter and exit the school, bikes and scooters and
access to the staff car park. Unfortunately, some people have missed the messages and we still have
bikes and cars entering our staff car park of a morning and afternoon. To ensure student and staff
safety, we will be closing the carpark gates of an afternoon.
If you are riding with your children, please use the correct gates (near the office when bringing them
into school from Cambridge Crescent or the back gate when coming from Captain Oldrey Oval) and
remember to dismount your bike and push it once entering the school grounds. Thank you for your
cooperation and helping to teach your children safe habits.
We have reached the exciting stages in several of our PSSA sporting knockout events. Tomorrow our
AFL team will travel to Goulburn to play Camden South PS. If they win that game they will face South
Wagga PS with the winner to play the final in Sydney the following week.
On Thursday both our girls and boys basketball teams will play the south coast PSSA knockout finals in
Batemans Bay. The Girls team are playing Goulburn West PS and the boys will face Mount St Thomas
PS. If you would like to go along and support our teams, games start at 11am.
We wish both our AFL and basketball teams good luck and know they will play and represent
themselves and the school with pride.
Today our classes revisited some of the mindfulness lessons they participated in term 1. Today’s lessons
are a reminder of some of the exercises and techniques they might want to use in the lead up to our
Broulee on the Box performance, especially if they are feeling a little nervous about performing on
stage.
Lastly, our Year 6 students are heading to Sydney next week for their major excursion. They have a big
week ahead of them and I know their teachers are looking forward to all the great activities, learning
and experiences the children have ahead of them. We look forward to hearing all about it on their
return. During next week the remaining Year 6 students and Year 5 students from 5/6W and 5/6H will
have regular classes.

Fruit & Veg Month 2019
Our school has registered for Fruit & Veg
Month 2019.
The theme for this year is
‘The Adventures of Captain Fruit N Veg!’
It's all about linking eating fruit and
vegetables with good times, superheroes,
superpowers and adventures!
Fruit & Veg Month 2019 runs for the last 4
weeks of Term 3, Monday 2 to Friday 27 September.
As part of Fruit & Veg Month, students will be involved in various classroom and
school based activities which encourage them to eat more fruit and vegetables.
If you require more information on what activities our school is doing for Fruit &
