  • EMPOWER ILLINOIS Scholarship Granting Organization Tax Credit ScholarshipsAPPLICATION PROCESS AND KEY DATES

    STEP 1 On Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 6:30 p.m., you may access the reservation form on the Empower Illinois website. The reservation form requires the following information:• Parent name• Contact information – address, phone number, email

    address• Child(ren) name(s) include all children for whom you

    would like to apply for a scholarship

    At 7 p.m., you will submit the reservation form. Your submission timestamps your reservation.

    This is a critical step as your timestamp matters and may impact your chances of receiving a scholarship. You will want to submit this form right at 7 p.m. Minutes matter.

    STEP 2 Beginning on or about Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, you must complete the full scholarship application through the Empower Illinois online student portal. You will receive instructions via email about setting up your student portal after your reservation has been completed (step 1). Empower Illinois will begin awarding scholarships on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020. Scholarship awards are subject to the availability of funds at your school of choice. We recommend you submit your application before Monday, Jan. 27 to increase your chances of receiving a scholarship.

    APPLICATION MATERIALS

    To apply, you need proof of Illinois residency, your adjusted gross income and a valid email address. Choose your most recent household and income documents from the same year to use throughout your application. We recommend securing these materials and scanning copies or taking photos of them now, so you have them on-hand when it is time to complete the application.

    Proof of Illinois residence (one of the following for the household):• Federal Form 1040 with name and current address• Illinois driver’s license with current address• Illinois identification card (issued by the Secretary of

    State) with current address• Utility bill with name and current address• Statement of benefits from WIC or SNAP with name

    January 9, 2020 Dear Parents and Guardians,

    Please read all of the following important information.

    Win a free month’s tuition for your family! In order to plan for next year’s budget, enrollment, class space, etc., registration information is needed. We want to offer something for our existing families and also plan for the future.

    If you register your child(ren) by January 27, 2020, your family name will be put in a raffle to win one month’s free tuition. After January 27th the registration fee goes up to $35.00 per child for our existing families.

    Please fill out the attached sheets and class cards for each child and return them to school with a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee per child before January 27, 2020. Spaces will be reserved only for those who return the form, fee, and are current with tuition. You can also fill out and print these forms from our website. If you refer a new family to SCS and they stay for the 2020/21 school year, you will be eligible for a $150 tuition credit in April 2021. The new family must mention your name upon registration.

    Any NEW students in your family to St. Celestine School must be listed on the accompanying sheet. Registration papers for the new student will then be sent home to you.

    The mandatory fundraiser will be the same as this year. The amount is the same ($200.00), for full time families, $100.00 for part time preschool families. We will be selling raffle tickets. If you would like to save some money you can pay $150.00 at registration before January 27, 2020 and not participate in the raffle. Otherwise in the fall, every family will receive 40, $5.00 raffle tickets (1/2 day preschool families will receive 20, $5.00 raffle tickets).

    We are always diligent about preparing a budget that is fiscally sound. We are able to offer limited financial assistance for our families. Everyone must apply for the state scholarship before applying for our scholarship.
