The next few weeks we have 2 camps and swimming so the school will be buzzing with excitement and activity. All we need now is for the weather to settle and the sun to shine so we can get some vitamin D to resist the cold and flu bugs that are going round. In the past few weeks I have been concerned with the number of students arriving at school too early in morning. It is hard to believe that once again we are reaching the halfway point in a term. This term is going very quickly. The next few weeks we have 2 camps and swimming so the school will be buzzing with excitement and activity. All we need now is for the weather to settle and the sun to shine so we can get some vitamin D to resist the cold and flu bugs that are going round.

Last Thursday I attended the Brimbank and Melton Area Principal Forum where over 150 principals were in attendance. The agenda covered the following

1-School Change that leads to improvement

2-Building teacher capacity within schools

3-Building practice excellence in Literacy and Numeracy.

In the past few weeks I have been concerned with the number of students arriving at school too early in morning. Movelle School Values: Compassion, Respect,

It has been wonderful to see students showing

Movelle pride both in the classroom and the

yard. I have been noticing the students taking

pride in themselves and respecting each other.

In particular I have noticed students who are

always in FULL UNIFORM. These students

have been acknowledged and praised for their

Movelle pride. We are very fortunate to have

such a nice uniform at Movelle. Student who

do not come to school in uniform will be given

a courtesy reminder for parents. School

uniform, at any school in this region is

compulsory, unless we have an out of uniform

day. Karen Wood

Principal

As of next term we are changing it up a little

with our communication. School assembly will

now be held weeks 3, 6 & 9 of each term. This

will give us a chance to facilitate more learning

time for the students in their classroom. We are

also looking into moving the newsletter dates as

well and starting a Movelle Facebook page to

communicate quickly to parents with

notifications about what is happening at

Movelle. Keep an eye out for further updates.

Movelle Programs

Building New Skills

Bikes Over Lunch Time (BOLT) This program provides an

opportunity for students to

understand the mechanics of a

bicycle and how to carry out

basic repairs and maintenance

whilst building ‘teamwork’.

This group can’t wait to get started every Monday.

Cooking Over Lunch Time (COLT) These MasterChef meet every

Monday to cook up a storm.

Teamwork, co-operation and

friendship makes this class a

whole lot of fun whilst

developing a life skill that will

hopefully come in handy in the future.

South Port Youth Team run both BOLT & COLT and we

plan to keep them on board for next term.

African Drumming Music

& Dance Group

Students involved in the African Drumming Program are building skills and confidence in music, rhythm and dance, leading to performances at School Assembly and the Arts Show.

This is ‘HARD WORK’ on the hands, but these students are dedicated and pushing through regardless.

This Project is sponsored by the School Focused

Youth Service
