28 May 2015 Issue 17/40 Woodroffe News Dear Families Last week our Student Leadership Group (House Captains and SRC) went to Palmerston Senior College (PSC) for the day to further enhance their leadership skills. During the visit PSC students mentored the group, took them to the Science Lab for a lesson and played sport with them. Our students were most impressed with Palmerston Senior College and it’s pupils. These opportunities will continue to come our way, to promote student voice and learning, as we take full advantage of connectED. Are you considering applying for a position on the Board or inviting an interested friend to do so? Please contact me for more information or to ask any questions you may have. I can now confirm our new finishing of 2.20pm will commence on the first day of next term, Tuesday 21st July. Today I am joined by 2 students, Archer and Kiara, who are Student Principals for the day. They are assisting me in meetings, at assembly, in decision making and planning etc., hence they will complete this newsletter. We would like to remind you about next week’s Sports Day. Children have been practicing events within their teams. There will be a letter going home on Monday providing all the information families will need about the day. We have noticed students are trying their best to learn and behave in The Woodroffe Way. Our 5/6 leaders know how important it is to behave in a positive way and to set a good example. In doing this the 1/2 and 3/4 TLTs will follow their lead. By working in The Woodroffe Way children are able to finish their class work on time and students and teachers are ready to move on to the next topic. During the visit PSC students mentored the group, took them to the Science Lab for a lesson and played sport with them. Our students were most impressed with Palmerston Senior College and it’s pupils. Today I am joined by 2 students, Archer and Kiara, who are Student Principals for the day. They are assisting me in meetings, at assembly, in decision making and planning etc., hence they will complete this newsletter.
