This elearning course is aimed at those working in a wide range of settings and introduces the important area of safeguarding individuals from abuse. It identifies different types of abuse and the signs and symptoms that indicate abuse might be occurring. The course considers when individuals might be particularly vulnerable to abuse and what a learner must do if abuse is suspected or alleged.
The MindLeaders Principles of Safeguarding and Protection elearning course maps completely to the following unit of the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care:
“Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care” (Unit sector reference: HSC 024) This is one of the five MANDATORY Health and Social Care units for all learners taking the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care inEngland.

Mindleaders and EDI have worked in partnership to map and accredit the learning undertaken by learners through e learning against the EDI Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Completing the elearning modules allows learners to build their knowledge of the sector against the requirements of the qualification, and enables them to continue to develop their skills towards the full EDI Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. EDI is accredited by the UK regulatory authorities to award over 370 vocational qualifications and quality assure over 400 training programmes.

Mapping to the National Occupational Standards (NOS) The Principles of Safeguarding and Protection unit has been developed by Skills for Care and Development in partnership with Awarding Organisations. It provides a key progression route between education and employment (or further study/training leading to employment).
