Anyone who attended Productronica 2007 got the verifi cation they need: Once again it was the trade fair for electronics production where demonstrating presence was key: Exhibitors from around the world met here, renewed existing contacts, established new connections and conducted successful business in the process. It was an exhibition for experts and decision-makers who knew what they were looking for and found what they wanted. As a result, once again Productronica 2007 was a unique gathering for international expertise that paved the way for the entire industry. It is not the numbers that make Productronica such a unique experience. It is the people behind them who made this exhibition what it was again in 2007: the gathering for electronics manufacturing.

Trade shows are business. The companies that ex hibit at Productronica not only have high standards, the can also expect to meet those standards. Whether they are cultivating existing business ties or making new ones, introducing themselves or observing the compe-tition, or merely wish to exchange ideas and informa-tion: Productronica 2007 was the perfect platform for doing so. The international mix and superior quality of the visitors do an impressive job of underscoring that fact. So is it really a surprise that nearly three-fourths of all exhibitors said that they defi nitely or prob -ably would participate in Productronica again in 2009?

A highlight:The “demo line”
Customized System in Package Solutions—This live production line did an impressive job of demon-strating how fl exible RFID components are manu -factured. This special attraction was organized in conjunction with the German Engineering Fed -e ration (VDMA), Productronics Division. Both the product and the technology for electronic com ponents whose shape can be adapted to fi t the application environment were developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM).

Everyone who is anyone in the media world for electronics production was at Productronica 2007: 350 journalists from 26 countries fi led reports on the latest innovations in electronics manufacturing. The result: 900 reports that reached more than 12 million readers, listeners and viewers. That kind of media response does not go unnoticed. Several exhibitors also reported entirely new business pros-pects that were the result of media coverage.
