Listening to trees sing is a uniquely exciting way to connect with nature and understand the ability of trees to communicate.

“After 2 hours walking in the forest with Julie I felt more connected and alive, with a deeper awareness, respect, and love for trees. Listening to the trees singing was amazing!” “Every minute of this blissful walk soothed my soul.” “This unforgettable experience was THE highlight of my trip to Seattle.”

Explore Trails Designed by John Olmsted in 1903

Old-Growth Trees That Sing! Walk in a rare, undisturbed old-growth forest only 7 miles from downtown in the Seward Park neighborhood of South Seattle. After a welcome to the park and short guided meditation, we'll stroll in silence, tuning into the sights and sounds of towering 200-plus-year-old trees. We’ll experience how trees actually sing with a device that converts the tree’s electric signals into musical notes and hear the healing sounds of Heidi Connolly’s meditative guided flute music to serenade the trees.

John Olmsted’s 1903 plan for Seattle’s scenic boulevards and parks is the blueprint of our walk in Seward Park, the jewel of his design (shown here in the circle on this map).

Explore the Forest & Lake Hi! I’m Julie, Tree Whisperer. My 15+ years spent cherishing the forest trails of Seward Park has inspired me to share my passion for these majestic old-growth trees with people of all ages and backgrounds. This walk is magical year-round, especially when velvety green moss blankets the trees. Explore 2.5 miles of trails at a comfortable pace under the canopy of a living forest, a thriving ecosystem and network of soil fungi called the "Wood Wide Web.” One for one, walkers find this experience a revitalizing highlight of their visit to the Seattle area.
