GREEN COFFEE
Ecuador grows and exports Robusta and Arabica coffee. The country’s microclimates allow the production of different kinds of coffee, like coffee from the rain forest, high lands and even from the Galapagos Islands.
Ecuadorian green coffee is mainly exported to Colombia, USA, Japan and Germany. Ecuador exported around 9000 tons of green coffee in 2014.

ROASTED COFFEE
INSTANT COFFEE
Ecuador exports different varieties of roasted coffee. The country isfocus on specialty coffee. The roast grade and package can beadapted according to customer needs.
Ecuadorian roasted coffee is mainly exported to Chile, USA, Spain, South Korea and Russia. Ecuador exported around 100 tons ofroasted coffee in 2014.
Ecuador produces and export spray dried, agglomerated and freeze dried coffee. In 2014 Ecuador exported 1673 tons of instant coffee to the UK, which represented approximately $10 millions.
Global exports of instant coffee from Ecuador in 2014 reached 22601 tons, which represented approximately $152 millions.
Ecuadorian instant coffee is mainly exported to Germany, Poland,Russia, UK, USA and other 19 countries.

CHOCOLATE
Ecuador chocolate is one of the most exquisite in the world. Several brands from Ecuador have won prices in contest like the International Chocolate Awards.
In 2014 Ecuador exported around $24 millions in chocolate. Ecuadorian chocolate is mainly exported to Brazil, Argentina,Colombia, USA, EU and Peru.

Ecuadorian cocoa production takes place mainly in the Coast and Rain Forest. Ecuador produces and exports Fine Aroma and CCN-51 cocoa beans.
Ecuador is the largest producer and exporter of Fine Aromacocoa worldwide, with a 63% market share.
In 2014 Ecuador exported about 200 thousand tons of cocoa beans which represented around $577 millions.
Ecuadorian cocoa beans are mainly exported to USA,Netherlands, Mexico and Germany.

NEWS
• On the 3th and 4th of June, 6 Britishimporters participated in the BusinessMatchmaking “Macrorrueda de NegociosEcuador 2015”. More than 500 exportersparticipated in this event in Guayaquil -Ecuador. This is an annual event thatgenerates about $240 millions. The invitedimporters belong to the following sectors: Processed food, agribusiness, aquaculture and crafts.
• PRO ECUADOR UK participated at the “London Produce Show”. This event took place on 3-5 June at the Grosvenor HouseHotel in London. Bananas, passion fruit,mangos, pineapples, dragon fruit, plantains,papayas and other fresh products fromEcuador were promoted in this event.

• PRO ECUADOR UK, in partnership with The Latin American Trade & Investment Association (LATIA), co-organized and participated in the Latin American International Forum (LAIF) on June 15th. LAIF is regarded as the most prestigious business event linking Latin American and the British investment. This year, Deputy Minister of Tourism in Ecuador, Dominic Hamilton, took a seat on a panel which presented the most significant investment projects available in the tourism sector.

• PRO ECUADOR UK held its annual investment event at The Ritz Hotel on the 16th of June. ViceMinister Hamilton met with Francisco Mena, Head of PRO ECUADOR, in London, with a group of investorsand selected media with the aim of promotinginvestment projects within tourism infrastructure in Ecuador and establishing B2B meetings withpotential business associates. The event broughttogether senior figures from both public and private sectors and sought to continue the strong annual performance in the investment industry.
• On the occasion of the Ecuadorian Tall Ship “Buque Escuela Guayas” visit to Belfast, PRO ECUUADOR UK organized two product tastings, called “ExquisiteEcuador”. The 1st of July, a reception took place on the tall ship, authorities such as the Lord Mayor of Belfast and members of the local Chambers ofCommerce attended the event. Prawns, tuna, plantain crisps, cassava crisps, chocolate, coffee and frozen fruit pulps from Ecuador, were the main ingredients of the food served. On the 3rd of July, an Ecuadorianlunch with representatives of the local chambers of commerce and media took place on the tall ship. The BBC and members of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce attended the event. A shortpresentation about the Ecuadorian export offer was made to the assistants.

After the great success we experienced this last month at Belfast, PROECUADOR UK is organizing the third edition of its promotional event‘Exquisite Ecuador’. The idea is to promote Ecuadorian export offer in the form of food ingredients and cuisine. Chef Maria Ruth Moreno is coming exclusively from Ecuador for these series of events.
An Ecuadorian Cuisine Work shop and Wine, Chocolate and Coffee Pairing will be organized.
We will invite British media and buyers to be part of our events during the ‘Exquisite Ecuador’ week in September.
Also, a series of live cooking presentations will take place in some of the most important supermakets in London.
