Don’t be Tardy for the Party!

A tardy is Mrs. Staley’s room is considered not being in your seat with your materials when the bell rings.

YOU MAY NOT JUST HAVE YOUR STUFF ON YOUR DESK AND YOUR BODY ISN’T THERE!

If you are tardy, you must sign the tardy notebook quietly and give the reason you are late.

The only acceptable tardy is a pass from the front office, principal, or teacher.

FJH Tardy Policy

A tardy is defined as a student who is not in class at the completion of the tardy bell prepared for the days activities.

1st tardy will result in a warning

2nd tardy will result in parent contact

3rd tardy in a class, parent will be contacted and student will serve a teacher detention

4th tardy student will be sent to office and will have an after school detention

5th tardy will result in 2 after school detention

6th tardy will result in an ISS assignment

When you get to class…

You may sharpen your pencil freely without permission from when you enter the classroom until we go over the warm-up.

No talking at the pencil sharpener.

You may not put colored pencils in the electric sharpener.

If you pencil breaks or you are out of lead during class time, you may raise your hand for permission to go to the pencil sharpener.

Having your materials is the key to Mrs. Staley’s heart!

Come to class everyday with your binder, planner, pencil pouch, and homework.

Please make sure your pencils or blue or black pens are with you!

If you do not have a writing utensil, you will have to borrow one from a neighbor or friend. I will not have extras for you to borrow.

Your materials…

Social Studies Materials-Your spiral, pencil or pen, colored pencils, and charged ipad with earbuds.

Always make sure you have extra notebook paper available in your accordion binder.

Restroom/Locker Procedure

1. When given permission to go to the restroom or locker, you must, you must sign out in the binder with correct time and date.

2. You must take the lanyard pass and put it around your neck! DO NOT CARRY IN HAND OR POCKET!

Leaving the room for other reasons… Nurse passes and library passes must be

signed and dated by me.

You must still sign in the binder.

You do not need to bring the lanyard pass with you. Only the paper pass I give you.

Library passes are only given when you are done with your work. NO OTHER TIME.

Class Dismissal

I will dismiss the class. The bell does not dismiss you.

The tables must be straight.

All trash and personal belongings must be picked up.

No talking.

Classroom Rules 1. Respect all procedures, your school, adults,

each other, and yourself. 2. Do not touch other people’s things or person..

Even if you are joking or showing you care about them.

3. Only talk when you are given permission. Raise your hand in a silent manner.

4. Be Polite. Use “mam” and “sir”. Speak with a “please” and “thank you” .

5. Take responsibility for your actions without rude gestures, language, or voices.

6. 10-10 rule: No student will be allowed to leave the classroom the first and/or last 10 minutes of the period (this is per office).

School Rules- These apply ANYWHERE in the school.

No cell phones or music players in class, lunch, or hallways. Cell phones must be placed in your locker and turned off. If you need to use the phone, ask me!

You MUST wear you ID at all time with the a break away lanyard.

NO GUM!

NO FIGHTING, DRUGS, WEAPONS, OR ALCOHOL.

No PURPLE! (PDA-boys and girls holding hands, kissing, hugging, etc)

Individual Consequences 1st offense- Verbal Warning

2nd offense- Teacher/Student Conference

3rd offense- Parent contact/ conference

4th offense- Teacher Detention

5th offense- Office Referral

** Some instances result in immediate office referral like serious disrespect, fighting, stealing, breaking the law, etc.

Consequence checks start over every nine weeks.

Rewards/Consequences

The class will earn free time if topics are covered and there are no discipline problems.

Free time can consist of visiting, iPAD time, extra credit work or working on homework time.

If class does not earn free time due to discipline for me or another adult in the class then we will have book time with worksheets.

Grades!

Not turning in homework or an average grade lower than 74 will result in parent phone calls home!

Missing assignments will result in teacher detention.

You will also have daily/quiz grades (50%) and test/project grades (50%).

Tutorials Tutorials are used to HELP students or to

make up a test or homework assignment if you were absent. It is not a time to come in and socialize.

You must sign in on the tutorial sheet.

Tutorial times are as follows: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:45-8:10 am

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15-4:15

No morning tutorials on Wednesday mornings because of teacher meetings.
