Proclaim The Good News. That's what Pastor Armando Ponce has done in the city of Tijuana for the past 33 years. Together with his wife Adriana, they have shared the story of Jesus to literally thousands of people through their church, Cristo Arca de Salvación in Ejido Francisco Villa, and the 6 other churches they have had a part in planting.

Pastor Armando was a part of the original group of Pastors that helped in the establishment of the Ministry Planning Board in 1985, when Amor began building houses in the Tijuana dump. It was the ministry's desire to expand throughout the city and Pastor Armando was instrumental in taking Amor further east. The Ponces have given their lives to proclaiming good news throughout their communities, where they have established churches, and come alongside Amor’s ministry to keep families together through house building. Along with other Pastors from our locations in Mexico and South Africa, they have been a part of approving over 18,000 biographies. That's 18,000 families kept together!

Scott and I have known the Ponce family for the past 32 years. So, it was a surprise to find out that the home Armando and Adriana were living in belonged to the church and they would need to make their home someplace else once they retired. This past spring that dream of having their own home came true when a group from England fulfilled for Armando and Adriana what they had been doing for other families over the years!

This year's Christmas catalog is a tribute to the Pastors of the Baja Ministry Planning Board that serve beyond their local churches in working alongside Amor to keep families together. Pastor Armando, Pastor Mere and Pastor Cesar represent the cities of Tijuana, Tecate and Rosarito where it all began.

As you look through this year's catalog we pray that you will give generously this Christmas. Amor's commitment to proclaim good news has not changed in our 37 years. Our partnership with local pastors is at the foundation for how we serve. And as we expand to other parts of the world, that partnership is more important than ever!

The pastors who partner with us by running the Ministry Planning Board are dedicated to their neighborhoods far beyond a Sunday service. Their time and efforts are poured out to help start missions, to create housing opportunities for their community, and to invest in their congregation. Justice is truly a lifestyle for them.

Pastor César Alejandro Nuñez has been working with Amor for the past 14 years. In addition to collaborating with Amor, Cesar pastors a church called Templo Cristiano La Mano De Jehová Sobre Nosotros, and helped co-found a mission in Tijuana called Siloé.

Pastor Hermenegildo Don Ureña, whom our community calls Pastor Mere, has come alongside Amor for 24 out of his 26 years as a pastor. He serves as the pastor of Iglesia Bautista Torre Fuerte, and helped found a mission in El Florido, Tijuana called Nueva Jerusalén.

Tortugas de Puerto Morelos, a sports club that includes wholistic development - emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual, that allow us to come alongside families we serve in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.

Our first team is made up of girls and boys that are 7 to 8 years old that play flag football in the Organización de Futbol Americano del Sureste. Many of the kids come from families that have never been able to have them play on any sort of team because of the cost and / or time.
