Case 2: We recently helped an industry leading packaging client deliver 18-30% savings across a number of direct and indirect categories

Round 1

12.16

Notes: (1) Baseline was based on transactional 2008 costs and volume and adjusted for discontinued business (2) Savings potential increased solidly during the project through detailed supplier feedback and negotiation(3) The MDO scenarios exclude outliers

Highlights

• Core and Extended Team structure ensured consistent participation of relevant stakeholders throughout the process

• Supplier participation and creativity were maximized through active management– Over 90% participation from hundreds of suppliers

• Majority of savings were driven by sourcing levers enabled by Collaborative Optimization– Use of supplier proposed alternatives– Analysis of changes in specifications– Use of non-traditional sources of supply– Introduction of new suppliers– Structured reallocation of business

• Comprehensive global Collaborative Optimization event leveraging spend across segments and geographies

• Detailed process design to allow for like-for-like comparison of MSP model adoption

• Detailed data collection and transparency for future sourcing and demand management activities

Case 3: Our Collaborative Optimization approach was applied to help a pharmaceuticals client save 18% on global temporary labor spend while reducing the supply base by over 40%

Case 4: Simulation techniques were applied to help a process industry client design a network of logistics facilities to handle anticipated export growth

Project Overview The client is currently reevaluating their entire global supply chain to accommodate aggressive demand growth One of the new logistic initiatives is to design a logistics facility at the port that will handle all export volumes in order to

provide storage buffers for all manufacturing plants

How many storage locations for bulk and palletized product?

What total storage capacity between bulk and pallets?

How many resources at bagging stations?

How many resources allocated for picking tasks?
