Logo Overview

The Zebra logo is composed of two

elements: the Zebra head symbol and

the Zebra logotype. They should not

be modified in any way.

The relationship between the

symbol and the logotype has been

established in a horizontal and vertical

logo lock-up. When using the logo on

communications, be sure to use either

the horizontal or vertical version of the

logo. These should not be modified in

any way.

Branding LocationConsiderations

Front of the Product

In the best case, the branding and model number will appear on the front of the product. It is acceptable to place

branding and model number where they can be seen when customers are “wearing” a product.

Splash Screen

Whenever possible, branding and model number should appear on the splash screen upon startup of all applicable

digital display items (not all digital displays have a splash screen). Products which can’t be powered up, however, may be

indistinguishable without the model number.

Regulatory Label Location

Regulatory labels are required on many of Zebra’s products. However, our customers sometimes experience

identification issues when a label on the outside of a unit is rubbed off in key contact points. These include battery

compartments where a battery slides in, scanners where handled by the trigger, under the scanning window, or at the

point of contact with cradles and mounting devices.

Placement on Round

Due to the wide range of product

sizes, the Zebra logo will scale

significantly across the portfolio.

No matter the size of the logo, the

following clearances should always be

observed to ensure that the logo is not

crowded on the product.

Logo Pad Print Implementation

Logos should be printed in a color

that that provides a moderate

contrast between product and logo.

It should be easily visible but not

distracting or dominating on the face

of the product.

Model Number OverviewBrand Value Considerations

Identification

Model numbers aid communication and identification internally, with resellers,

and with customers. Zebra has a large number of products, some visually similar

within the product family.

Tech Support Calls and Supply Order

Model numbers are essential for tech support calls and ordering supplies and accessories.

Online Self Service

A large percentage of our customers prefer self-service online support, which

is wholly driven by model name. Zebra’s many customers need to know their

product name to download files and search the knowledge base.

Pay for Support

Many of our products are “pay for support” which requires the serial number

and model number be provided to identify entitlement of warranty. The model

configuration number on the unit tells service agents everything they need to

know.

Operations

Model numbers on products are beneficial because serial numbers and model plates may often be inaccessible when an item is placed in operations.

Recommendation

Since the Zebra logo is left heavy,

placing the model number on the right

can visually balance it. Also, placement

below the Zebra name will give primary

emphasis to the brand.

The first preference is for a horizontal

logo layout. If a horizontal layout is

not possible, the vertical logo layout is

acceptable. Examples of horizontal and

vertical logo layouts are shown in the

following pages. If neither is possible,

the model number may be separated

from Zebra logo (with approval only).

Size

Model numbers are to be 1/2a tall where a is equal to the

height of ZEBRA.

Font

Model numbers are to use Proxima Nova Bold.

Color

The model numberand logo should always be

printed in the same color, maintaining contrast

against the product’s body color. Available colors

are outlined in the CMF chapter.

Placement Protocol

The following guidelines show how

model number can be placed on

products. Model number is positioned

in close proximity to the Zebra logo to

aid customers and service personnel in

identifying products.

Model Number Spacing (Standard)

For standard size logos (h ≥ 10mm), place the model

number 1/4a below ZEBRA where a equals the height

of ZEBRA.

Model Number Width

The model number needs to be contained within the width of

ZEBRA. Consideration should be given to avoid overly long

and complex model numbers.

If the model numbers get longer and cannot be

accommodated within the width of ZEBRA, reduce the font size

to accommodate within the width of ZEBRA. Distance between

ZEBRA and model number will still remain 1/2 or 1/4 based on

the height of the Zebra head.

Product descriptors such as “Healthcare”, “Rugged”, and

“Secure Issuance” need not be combined with Zebra brand

and model number.Model Number Spacing (Small Size)

For smaller logo applications (h < 10mm), place the

model number 1/2a below ZEBRA where a equals the

height of ZEBRA.

Logo & Model Number Surround Clearance

Maintain 2x logo ascender width of clearance around

perimeter of the full logo with model number.

Placement Protocol

If a horizontal application is not possible

due to space constraints, the following

vertical application can be used.

Model Number Spacing

Center the model number 1/2a below ZEBRA

where a equals the height of ZEBRA.

Model Number Width

Model number needs to be contained within the

width of ZEBRA. Consideration should be given to

avoid overly long and complex model numbers.

If model numbers get longer and cannot be

accommodated within the width of ZEBRA, reduce

the font size to accommodate within the width

of ZEBRA. Distance between ZEBRA and model

number will still remain 1/2 the height of ZEBRA.

Product descriptors such as “Healthcare”, “Rugged”,

and “Secure Issuance” need not be combined with

Zebra brand and model number.

Surrounding clearance space is

equal to the height of ZEBRA.
