Flooring

D&R Henderson have been manufacturing all purpose tongue and grooved particleboard flooring since 1987. Floorboard products incorporate a high concentration wax-resin system, allowing for greater edge protection if sheets are cut. This obviates the need for edge wax sealant.

Floorboard meets all the requirements of the Australian standard AS/NZS 1860.1 and is suitable for domestic and commercial installations.

Tongue & Groove Floorboard come in three thicknesses and is available as General Purpose (GP) or Termite Treated (TT).

Raw or Standard MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard)We stock a range of popular sizes in our warehouse for immediate delivery, typically in 2400 x 1200 board sizes for other sizes outside of the norm, we draw from either our mill or external suppliers, dependent upon the urgency. Sheet quantities no problem.

Ultra HMR MDF – Flooring UnderlayD&R Henderson Flooring Underlay is a High Performance Fibreboard (HPF) manufactured using a newUltra HMR resin (MDI). The increased moisture resistance provides extended protection for the life of the product. It is specifically manufactured for interior use complying with AS/NZS 1859.2 - Reconstituted Wood Based Panels. NAF (No Added Formaldehyde) MDI resin does not contain Formaldehyde of any type. No Formaldehyde is added in the manufacturing process, minimal amounts of natural Formaldehyde are present in all wood products which are far below any emission standards.

Fire Retardant MDF (FR MDF)Application where a Fire Retardant material is specified. Commonly used in nursing homes or government department buildings. FR MDF can be cheaper than Ply if price is a consideration. Please note this is a project order specific product and is not kept in regular stock, though can be sourced quickly.

RawboardAs the name suggests, Raw board is sheet particleboard ready for a wide range of applications, including laminating, kitchen benchtops, furniture and lounge manufacturing, warehouse racking, pallets and a broad range of other applications.

Substrates can vary though are commonly standard MR (Moisture Resistant) board, or non resistant (UF).

Sizes can also vary though common sizes are stocked as shown.

Ranging in colour from soft light oak tones to the very dark, rich tones with varying grain structure, our comprehensive Legno range offers you extensive colour options ensuring you achieve your desired beautiful timber finish.

Timber veneer is the finest use of fine timbers, because it is real timber. One cubic metre of log produces around 1000 square metres of veneer! No other form of woodworking material results in such a yield.

Natural Veneers.The natural variation of timber means each project is individual. No two veneers are exactly alike. The ‘Fingerprints ‘of nature lift your designs above that achievable with other similar man made alternatives.

Timber veneers add natural warmth and ambience to your project. Timber veneer is warm and gentle to the touch.

Recon Veneers.Reconstructed veneers are manufactured from readily available plantation timbers, such as poplar, Obeche or Bamboo. Logs are rotary peeled into veneers, which are then dyed all the way through and dried. Layers of variously coloured veneers are then laminated together in moulds in a controlled pattern to form ‘grain’ patterns which are then re-sliced into veneers. The way the layers of veneers are arranged and are then re-sliced depend on the desired pattern – the process is fully automated and often involves the use of computer software to produce different veneer figures and patterns.

Reconstructed timber veneers offer excellent consistency in colour and repeated grain pattern, patterns and colours that can be easily matched or replaced.

Keeping up appearances. Just like other dyed products, such as fabric, it is possible that D&R Henderson Legno Recon Veneers may vary slightly in colour by 5-10% from batch to batch.

To ensure the best results, all veneers for a projects should be ordered at the same time and use the same coating and processing systems.

UV resistanceD&R Henderson Recon Veneers are manufactured using superior dyes however just as natural timber veneer will tend to change colour in the presence of light, D&R Henderson Legno Veneers may also be affected. This is part of a natural process and not a defect in the veneer chosen. Where veneer is exposed to strong light sources and sunlight, particularly in a project with north facing windows, it may be advisable to install blinds or have UV protective film applied.

Where D&R Henderson Legno Veneers are specified, it is imperative that a non-yellowing acrylic urethane such as B.C. Coatings UT160 UVMax or polyurethane such as Mirotane Sunshield Clear PU5577 are used to help minimise colour changes over time.

CareLustre Acrylic Panels come with a protective film, be sure not to remove this film until work has been

completed as this will initiate a 72 hour curing process.Clean using a non-abrasive soap or detergent in warm water with a soft cloth or chamois. Be sure to wipe any

spills or residue immediately, as the panels are not waterproof, they are moisture resistant.

Minor scratches can be easily removed by hand with selected liquid polishes and a soft polishing cloth. Never

use cleaning products containing alcohol, solvents, abrasives, acetone, paraffin, petrol, pinewood or oils or

glass cleaners as this will only damage the surface.Following these caring steps will ensure your surface stays beautiful for years to come.

Bamboo is an amazing material, being a grass not a wood as some may believe. It is highly durable, eco friendly, hard wearing and fast growing.

Being a renewable resource, dedicated Bamboo plantations can mature in as little as 3 years before they harvest for Ply. Unlike traditional softwoods which can be as much as 30 years to reach maturity.

Wardrobe Doors

D&R Henderson offer wardrobe doors (selected states).

Cabinetmakers & Shop Fitters are increasingly expanding their services to domestic builders and to commercial fit outs. For example many not only make the kitchens, though are now doing the laundries and bedroom robes.

In many cases D&R Henderson are supplying the board materials that make up the cabinetry or shelving. So it is logical that we support our customers with an additional and convenient service in common wardrobe or office sliding doors.

Doors come as a kit ready for installation, including doors and tracks.

You can even mix it up e.g. one door mirror the other vinyl.

D&R Henderson a Leading Sawmill and Board ManufacturerWhen it comes to sustainability, through our sawmill in Benalla country Victoria, we recycle over 20,000 Tons per annum of recycled wood. That’s over 800 full semi loads of wood product that doesn’t go back into landfill.

A 27m high cleaning tower, removes foreign objects to enable us to provide a superior recycled product for a 2nd chance at life.

Our CommitmentFor many years we have held a deep commitment to maintaining manufacturing processes which are both efficient and environmentally friendly.

There is virtually zero waste in our manufacturing processes, from sawmilling pine timber through to board manufacture and melamine laminating.

Renewable Resource Mantra10-20% of the wood used in our production is sourced from post consumer material, a resource which has been diverted from the general waste stream to our recycling facility. Once processed into smaller chips, the material undergoes several cleaning stages across multiple sites to remove impurities before being used in a variety of board products.

Over 70% of our wood is sourced from FSC certified plantations, a practice which supports the sustainable management of plantation pine.

Around 75% of the feedstock for our board products is classed as pre-consumer recycled content. This is a by-product from other manufacturing processes which is diverted into systems for further up-stream product manufacture.
