Spotlight of the Month: Cohl McClung

Product of the Month

We would like to welcome the newest member of the Valco Team. We have purchased a Trubend 7036 Press Brake to complement and improve our bending capabilities.

This advanced press brake will bend work piec-es/parts up to 40’ in length with up to 40 tons of power. It is an electric press brake which means there are no hydraulic cylinders to generate force. Driven by electrically powered ball screws, it is both extremely accurate and fast. The ergonomic design of the machine makes it easy for the opera-tor to bend large quantities of smaller parts while seated. We are now fully operational and excited with having this state of the art brake press as part of our brake press department. We are glad to be able to continually improve our capabilities and efficiency while investing in all of our futures.

Our product of the month is a very long and intricate frame that serves as a support for a ladder apparatus on a first responder’s emergency vehicle. In order to assist in mak-ing a perfect fit, all of the framework was tabbed which allowed for a precise fitting. The long channels and angles were cut into different lengths to allow them to be welded behind the framework. This added strength and concealability.

We make several different size frames like the one pictured here, but this is by far one of the biggest/longest. We are very happy and honored to be part of manufacturing vi-tal parts for first responder vehicles.

For those of you who like to plan ahead here’s a heads up that Memorial Day 2020 is on Monday, May 25th and is of course a paid holiday for all full-time

Valco Associates. We will resume normal production, shipping and receiving hours on Tuesday, May 26th. Hopefully life and activities will be back to normal by that time so we can all better enjoy the holiday.

As most of you know Valco has been designated as a criti-cal industry during the coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, we have been able to continue to be fully operational in order to meet our customers ongoing requirements. Most of our cus-tomers have also been designated as critical industries and as such we have done all we can to continue to meet their critical needs and so they in turn can meet their customers’ require-ments as well.

We want to thank all of our Associates for their willingness and “can do” attitude to continue working during these very trying and challenging times in our lives. This “science fiction movie” feeling we are living through certainly is nothing like any of us have experienced before, and hopefully something we will never again experience in our lifetimes. We have and will continue every day to do all we can to be sure that Valco remains a safe and healthy place to work and continue to encourage all of our associates to follow all of the recommended hygiene and safety precautions that have been provided to all of us over the past several months.

Welcome to: Joe McCrite who started on April 9th and is part of our first shift welding department. Joe is a graduating CTC welding student and we look forward to working with him in the months and years ahead.
