Transmission variationsThe QUON range has a number of transmission options for the various

models. The Easy Safe Controlled Transmission (ESCOT) -AT IV and -II

transmissions have been established as market leaders worldwide.

ESCOT has been specifically designed for enhanced driver comfort and

safety, lower maintenance as well as greater fuel efficiency. ESCOT provides:

Heavy Commercial Vehicle RangeUD 60 to UD 100 Series

UD Trucks’ heavy commercial range is geared to achieve excellent fuel

consumption and gradeability, ensuring that a high average speed is

attained to boost productivity. Like its siblings, these units are also

available with an automatic transmission option.

This range of units provides transport solutions for nominal payloads

from 6 to almost 11 tons. Their optimised wheelbases make them ideal

for a range of applications; which include freight carriers that can be

fitted with virtually any rear body, a dedicated tipper or compactor

as well as conversions to truck tractors. Tag axle options allow for

operation as a 6x2 with additional payload capability.

The class-leading performance of these units is achieved by the

unique combination of engine power, transmission ratios and final

drive ratio. With its proven flexibility and superb durability, this series is

ideally suited to meet the needs of the distribution sector. This range is

Medium Commercial Vehicle RangeUD 35, 40 & 40L

UD Trucks Southern Africa’s range of Medium Commercial Vehicles not

only adheres to Euro II emission regulations, but continues to exceed the

expectations of customers in various applications.

The chassis, axles and suspension components are specified to suit

the specified carrying capacity, performance and handling of each

variant with due consideration for the myriad of applications that these

units are suitable for, from refrigerated transport to medium haul

cargo carriers.

With an emphasis on safety and comfort, the cabin is well-

appointed with streamlined ergonomics to ensure that the vehicles

operate with ease. For additional driver comfort and convenience,

the cab is fitted with an adjustable driver’s seat and column-mounted

controls for lights, indicators, windscreen wipers and washers, as well

as for the exhaust brake.

A rev counter with a specially marked green band has also been

added to indicate the ideal revolutions under which the vehicle should

be operated.

Hellberg Transport Management (HTM) ConsultancyOur TransSolve Hellberg Transport Management Consultancy package

is one of the most sophisticated transport consultancy services in the

country, allowing us to assist customers to select the correct vehicle for

the job at hand.

At UD Trucks we believe that the selection of the correct vehicle not

only allows the customer to run his operation efficiently, but is also the

cornerstone of dependable service. The service allows us to determine

vehicle loading and mass distribution, vehicle performance predictions,

operating cost estimates, and finance options and maintenance and

service cost estimates.

The correct specification, advised by our skilled sales force, ensures the

ultimate in truck service delivery backed by our equally skilled service

staff ensures you, our customer, absolute peace of mind.

Extended WarrantiesUD Trucks provides this service through Motorite Administrators (Pty)

Ltd, an approved Financial Service provider (FSB No: 9140). In effect,

this enhances a client’s risk management profile freeing up capital and

reducing maintenance costs should a mechanical breakdown occur on

certain covered parts and components.

These products can be financed with the vehicle, or purchased

upfront by the client at the first retail date of the vehicle, allowing for a

tax deductible input, depending on the business’s VAT and Income Tax

status at the time of purchase.

Maintenance ContractsMaintenance Contracts allow customers to pay a regular monthly sum

for the service and repair requirements on a vehicle, instead of having to

pay a relatively large sum when visiting the workshop.

The Maintenance Plan offers the customer protection for all

scheduled services and repairs that are subject to normal wear and

tear**. These options will be available for a maximum of 5 years or 1

Million Kilometres/12 000 hours, whichever should occur first.

(Please note that parameters can vary depending on the operating

category of the vehicle.)

“drive train” cover as well. All support functions apply.

UD CareProvides Customers with a Service Contract combined with cover on

brakes and clutch replacements. All support functions apply.

UD MobileThe Ultimate Solution offering Customers full cover on all repairs and

maintenance over the designated period, with the added advantage of

all support functions.
