Requirements:

Mulco Tool & Engineering required a high-strength elastic adhesive for use in the modification of vehicles for wheelchair accessibility. The adhesive would be used to bond a wheelchair ramp to a frame, which is then installed on the modified vehicle chassis. Mulco specifically requested a solution with minimal surface preparation.

Solution:

Sika Technical Service Centre conducted testing on the substrate provided by Mulco which they use in the actual application. The testing demonstrated that Sika could offer a solution which displayed both better adhesion and higher strength than the product Mulco had been using. After presenting the results to Mulco, they decided to switch to the Sika recommendation.
