Novus spiral wound gaskets aresemi-metallic products designed for high pressure and temperatureapplications. A variety of forms ofthe gasket are available and thesecan be manufactured in variousmaterials or sizes to suitrequirements.

With over 100,000 standard gasketsin stock and fast track manufacturingfor non-standard items we can meetall your service requirements.

In addition, the materials can be supplied in private brand andcolour formats to ensure yourcompany or customer isaccorded recognition.

The jointing can be supplied assheet or as cut gaskets, either to standard or non-standarddimensions.

When application temperaturesexceed the limits of exfoliatedgraphite, the end user has arecourse to a number of specialistjointing materials which maintaintheir integrity at temperatures upto 1000 oC.

Novus Hi-Temp is a speciallydeveloped sealing material capableof maintaining a long term seal attemperatures to 1000 oC.

Quality products

Ring Type Joints are widely used by the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical andOffshore Industries in applicationssubject to high pressures.

These joints are designed toconcentrate the bolt load over a small area thus producing highseating stresses. As the ring typematerial should always be softerthan the mating flanges, the highseating stress causes ‘plastic-flow’of the ring joint at the flange facescreating the seal.

We hold stocks of soft iron and stainless steel, oval and octagonal.Other exotic material can bemanufactured to meet specificcustomer requirements.

Metal jacketed gaskets consistof a soft filler encapsulated in ametallic material. The fillermaterial provides the gasket withcompressibility and resiliencewhile the jacket conferscompressive strength and blowout resistance.

Jacketed gaskets can beproduced in a variety ofconfigurations making them a good choice for heatexchangers applications. A wide range of jacket andfiller materials are available tosuit every service condition.

Compression Packings

We offer a full range ofcompression packings for valve,rotary pump and reciprocatingpump applications. Our packingsutilise the most advancedproduction techniques andmaterials to ensure a high integrityseal in even the most demandingof industrial applications.



Corrugated Metal Gaskets

Corrugated Metal Gaskets consist of a corrugated metal core, normallystainless steel, with a soft facing layerapplied to each face. The corrugationsprovide resilience and reduce thesealing surface area of the gasketwhile the soft layer ensuresoutstanding sealing, even at low loads.

These gaskets are particularly suited to heat exchanger applications as areplacement to metal jacketed gaskets.


Material constructions includePTFE, graphite and carbonfibre and synthetic fibres in a variety of combinations. For high performance valveapplications, we manufactureexfoliated graphite die-formedrings in virtually any size,section or density to suitrequirements.

Camprofile Gaskets

Novus Camprofile gaskets are theideal product choice for standardpipeline and heat exchangerapplications. They provide thehighest levels of sealing integrity but with the ability to seal at seatingstresses normally associated withsheet materials. Camprofiles are able to cope with fluctuatingtemperatures and pressures makingthem the gasket of choice for heatexchanger service. The product canalso be used time and again whenrefurbished.

Novatex and Rubber Products

Poor flange assembly is the mostcommon cause of gasket leakage,yet experience shows that goodpractice is relatively simple toachieve: Trained technicians workingto clear procedures and with thecorrect equipment will result in aproperly assembled flange.

We are able to offer some toolswhich complement our trainingservices in assisting technicians inthe making of properly assembledand reliable flanged joints. Thesetools will ensure that the flange hasthe correct surface finish, is properlyaligned and is assembled correctly.

Novatex is a range of expanded PTFEproducts designed for sealing applicationsof limited bolt load. Available in both sheetand tape forms and in a range ofthicknesses and sizes. We also supply arange of rubber products for low pressureapplications including Neoprene, EPDMand Nitrile.

We have developed Novus Select,a user-friendly software programdesigned to help with bothselection and installation of ourproducts. The program utilisesmaterial compatibility datacombined with practical know-howto simplify the selection process,helping you make an informedchoice about which is the correctgasket for the application.

The program can also bemodified by us to accommodateplant specific requirements. The list of gaskets, bolt grade orlubricant type can be refined toinclude only those which areused on site, making theprogram ideal for plant baseduse.

Heatshields

Novus phenolic heatshields havebeen recognised by many industriesfor their performance advantages. Fire protection is paramount formany aspects of safety andoperation and is an area where ourproducts have been particularlysuccessful.

We provide a complete range of flangeinsulation products to limit corrosion inpipeline systems. The sets are designed to electrically isolate flanges and bolts incathodically protected piping systems orwherever dissimilar metals are present.

Insulation Kits also eliminate static chargetransfer in discharge and loading operationsat quayside and oil storage terminals.

Novus Insulation Kits are available for everytype of flange and in a range of materials to suit the application, including our uniqueelectrically insulating material HDS-1.

VCS and PGE Insulation Kits are alsoavailable.

A complete range of stud bolts,threaded bars and fasteners areavailable which are manufactured in an extensive range of materials with a wide choice of finishes and treatments. All products are machined to finetolerances and to high performancespecifications to meet the rigorousdemands of worldwide industries.

The Centre of Excellencefor cut components is aworld class facility for theproduction of non-metallicand metallic parts.

The centre is uniquely placed within themarket; offering manufacturing excellenceexpected of a cut gasket supplier, with thehigh quality knowledge and technicalsupport associated with a sheet and PTFEmaterial producer. The centre uses Laserand Atom Flash Cad based cutting toproduce a wide range of componentsincluding non-metallic gaskets, shims, signs,pattern parts and other precision items.

Lasered parts offer a number of advantagesover components manufactured with othercutting techniques; they can be supplied inthicknesses to 0.001” or 0.025mm andhave a more consistent and superior edgefinish.

Atom Flash cutting allows rapid productionof both simple and complex componentsand automatically nests the parts toachieve the highest material utilisation.Since we are able to manufacture our ownsheet and PTFE materials, non-standardmaterials and thicknesses can beaccommodated quickly.
