Thisamplifiedsplitterisoptimizedforusewithallsatelliteradiosystems.Itincludestheadaptersandaccessoriestopermitoperationofmultiplesatelliteradiosfromasingleantenna.InordertomaintaintheproperRFlinkbudgetfortheradio,thesplitterlossat2.35GHzhasbeencompensatedbyaninternalamplifier.ThisamplifierispoweredbytheDCvoltagethatissuppliedbyanyoftheradiosconnectedtoitsoutput.ThesplitterwillpasstheDCvoltagesuppliedbyaradioatanyoutputporttothesplitterinputport.Thiswillprovidepowertoanyantennaconnectedtothisportfortheantenna’sinternallow-noiseamplifier(LNA).StandardRG-6cablewithmaleF-connectors(notincluded)canbeusedtoextendtheoutputcablelengths.Thesplitterhas8dBofexcessgaintopermitoutputextensionsofupto70feet.Ifcableextensionsgreaterthan70feetaredesired,werecommendusingPixelModel:SBA-1lineamplifier(s)withthesplitter.Oneamplifier(forexample)placedattheinputofthesplitterwillpermittotalcablelengthsupto150feetfromeachindividualoutputporttotheradios.

Thissplitterhasbeendesignedwithanoutputimpedancethatreplicatesthatofasatelliteradioantennasotheradiowilloperateinitsnormalmodewithouttheneedforexternalimpedanceterminatingdevices.Unusedoutputportsdonothavetobeterminatedforproperoperation.

ThissplittercanalsobecascadedwithPixelModels:SR-2AandMBS-4couplerstoformcomplexmulti-portsplitternetworksasshownonthefollowingpage..

Asopposedtostandardsplitters,thissignalsplitterhasbeenspeciallydesignedtopass,withlow-loss,signalsfromthebottomoftheAMbroadcastband(500kHz)tobeyondthetopofthesatelliteradioband(2.4GHz).Withsuchawidepass-bandit isveryusefulforimplementingwhole-houseandcommercialRFdistributionnetworksofsignalsusedinalltypesofentertainmentsystems. ItisalsodesignedtopassDCfromanyofitsoutputportstotheinputportviaprotectiondiodesthatpreventDCfeedback.ItcanbeusedintandemwithmodelMBA-12ultra-widebandamplifiertoimplementalosslesssplitter.Insertionloss:12dBDiodeProtection:AllPortsThissplitterisnotrecommendedforuseinstand-alonesatelliteradiosplitterconfigurationswithoutadditionalexternalamplificationandDCimpedanceterminations(forXMapplications).
