However, not many businesses are catering to the more sophisticated and fitness savvy needs of this fast growing consumer group. Reebok conducted a study which surveyed over 7,000 women across the
world to discover exactly what motivates them to exercise. The study found that many consider working out to be a chore, particularly on standard exercise machines and are motivated by activities that are fun, fresh and engaging. These findings heavily correlate with recent findings from IHRSA’s member satisfaction survey which outlines how member boredom is a growing problem among
gym members today and that many facilities are failing to address the top needs of their members.
