MAP AdministrationLearn how to administer assessments for the first time, access your MAP Growth data, and use data to engage students and optimize learning.

Applying Reports Essential Reports for Teachers (half day) Access, interpret, and apply key MAP Growth reports used by teachers and instructional coaches. Meet individual students’ needs by identifying targeted instructional groups based on MAP Growth goal area data. Boost differentiation efforts by connecting groups of students to skills in the learning continuum.

Essential Reports for Primary Teachers (half day)Access, interpret, and apply key MAP Growth K–2 reports used by teachers and instructional coaches. Identify which assessments and reports to use for status, growth, and diagnostic data. Boost differentiation efforts by connecting groups of students to skills in the learning continuum.

Essential Reports for Administrators (half day)Access, interpret, and apply key MAP Growth reports used by school and district administrators. Develop and nurture a culture of using data regularly to inform decisions. Use MAP Growth data to make decisions that inform school improvement planning and resource allocation.

Student Goal Setting and Growth (half day)Access, interpret, and apply student growth data using the Achievement Status and Growth reports. Develop student learning goals using growth projections and learning statements. Engage students in goal setting and build shared ownership of data with students and parents.

Student Learning Objectives: Using MAP for SLOs/SGOsKnow what to consider when developing Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) or Student Growth Objectives (SGOs). Learn how to use and analyze MAP Growth data when creating SLOs/SGOs. Discover the four types of context and their effect on developing SLOs/SGOs.

Informing Instruction Differentiating Instruction (half day) Build a shared understanding of differentiated instruction. Use MAP Growth reports to gauge student readiness. Identify instructional resources you can use to target diverse learning needs.

Instructional Ladders (half day) Design tiered, responsive instructional plans by integrating standards, MAP Growth data, and local curriculum. Engage with topics of interest, such as formative assessment or flexible grouping, to deepen your understanding of instructional planning.

Focusing on GrowthInvestigating Growth (half day) Gain a deeper understanding of growth and how it’s reported through MAP Growth. Build a framework to better understand growth over time and how it can impact goal setting at all levels. Analyze longitudinal MAP Growth data more deeply using relevant tools and coaching protocols.

District and School Goal Setting (half day) Establish a common language for discussing goals. Use MAP Growth tools to set goals that support school or district improvement plans. Incorporate your unique contextual factors into goal setting.

Knowing how to use this tool more efficiently in classrooms will help educators understand how to better support students who need remediation or enrichment. You’ll also learn strategies for creating effective intervention programs and closing gaps in learning.

MAP Skills BasicsPractice assigning and taking missions, such as Skills Locators and Mastery Checks. Explore assessment reports and data, the skills framework, and learning resources. Apply MAP Skills data to support decision making.

MAP Skills Essential Reports and Data Investigate and interpret reports and data, including the heat map and progress graph. Begin to apply MAP Skills missions and data to support your intended instructional use. Design a plan for how to incorporate MAP Skills into the classroom—including details on logistics, curriculum integration, and communication.

PREREQUISITE + MAP Skills Basics

MAP Skills: Planning for Responsive Instruction Understand and implement the key components of responsive lesson planning. Choose to learn more about helping high-achieving students, supporting English language learners, or incorporating the elements of Universal Design for Learning into lesson plans. Outline a plan for how to better incorporate evidence of student learning—and share it with peers.

Assessment Data for RTI Define and align current assessment data with appropriate uses. Identify tools and resources for screening students, monitoring progress, and determining mastery. Apply MAP Growth and MAP Skills data to key RTI practices.

PREREQUISITES + Workshops: MAP Skills Basics and Essential Data and Reports

+ At least one complete administration of your MAP Growth assessment (or comparable interim data)

Collaborative Problem Solving for Focused InterventionExplore and practice strategies for effective data conversations. Investigate resources and reports from a variety of sources to discern implications for instruction. Practice a collaborative problem-solving approach to construct a focused intervention plan and generate goals for progress monitoring.

PREREQUISITES + Workshops: MAP Skills Basics, Essential Reports and Data, and Assessment Data for RTI

+ At least one complete administration of your MAP Growth assessment (or comparable interim data) and MAP Skills experience and related data

DELIVERY & DURATIONOnsite or regional: Half day; can be paired with any other half-day workshops; 40 participants

WHO SHOULD ATTENDPrimary audience: Teachers, interventionists, teacher leaders, and instructional coaches

VIRTUAL DELIVERY AVAILABLEVirtual MAP Skills Basics: Ideal for smaller implementations of MAP Skills, this virtual workshop covers key concepts from two of our onsite workshops: MAP Skills Basics and MAP Skills Essential Reports and Data. Up to 12 participants can join us in this collaborative online learning experience. This workshop includes two, two-hour sessions led by our expert consultants.
