NEWPORT NEWS | RICHMOND | ROANOKE24 MONTHSVirginia Tech designed the Professional MBA program for working profes-sionals across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic Region who want to advance their career while balancing their work and personal life.
“What we did at Virginia Tech a few years ago was to say that we really want to focus on the working professional — someone who wants to enhance their career or make a change in the direction of their career, but not at the expense of continuing to be a business professional.”
ROBERT T. SUMICHRAST DEAN, PAMPLIN COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

E A R N A N M B A D E S I G N E D T O F I T Y O U R L I F E The Virginia Tech Professional MBA is tailored for business leaders interested in taking their career to the next level while balancing their personal and pro-fessional priorities. The 24-month program will provide you with the tools you need to be successful in a fast-paced, ever-changing business world.
COHORT-BASED FORMATThe Professional MBA enrolls a small, exclusive group of students each fall. This ensures a high-quality classroom experience with lively, in-depth discussion each class weekend. Alumni tell us that this format helps them to create lasting professional relationships with their peers.
SCHEDULE Students meet for in-person class weekends (Friday and Saturday) once per month. The intensive class weekends and virtual collaboration between ses-sions allow students to continue their full-time professional roles and still earn their MBA in just 24 months.
LOCATIONClass locations rotate each month and are held at Virginia Tech centers across the commonwealth. With locations in Richmond, Roanoke, and Newport News, you’ll spend 50% of your class weekends in your home region and 50% traveling to another leading city in Virginia. Thanks to its multiple locations and convenient schedule, the Professional MBA program enrolls a diverse mix of students representing a cross section of the Mid-Atlantic region’s key indus-tries.
