India foresees remarkable growth in automotive industryThe vision of Automotive Mission Plan (AMP 2006-16) aims at India to be the foremost choice of destination in the whole world for design and manufac-ture of automobiles along with auto components with an output that will reach a level of US$ 145 billion. This will account for more than 10 per cent of the gross domestic product (GDP) and will also provide an additional employment to almost 25 million people by 2016.

According to the report 'Auto Compo-nent Industry in India: Growing Capa-bilities & Strengths' by Automotive Components Manufactures Associa-tions, the Indian auto component industry is also expected to reach a turnover worth US$ 113 billion by the year 2020-21 as compared to US$ 43.4 billion in 2011-12 which is a significant growth. The exports from the industries are also expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 17% during 2012-21.

This growing automotive industry will also see a growth in the demand of packaging and cushioning solutions. To meet these growing demands, Supreme’s Protective Packaging Division offers specialized, cost-effective & customized solutions specifically for the requirements of the Automotive Industry to prevent from transit damages like breakages, scratches, dents, abrasions & corro-sion. Supreme expects to see a enor-mous growth in this sector owing to its contribution in the automobile industry with their wide range of prod-ucts in protective packaging and cushioning.

Coir Core Mattress PROTEClitelon Mattress

Comparison between Coir Core and PROTEClitelon (expanded polyethylene foam) for Mattress application

PerformanceDisintegrates when it comes in contact with water or moisture

No effect of water & moisture. Offers more rigidity / firmness to the mattressas compared to coir core

Durability and Shelf lifeDeforms and loses its original shape after some time making it difficult for use in long run

Foam being mechanically stronger, lasts longer than coir mattress

Adhesive consumptionThe conventional coir core mattress requires more adhesive for bonding of PU foam layer & also rubber foam on the side walls

Requires less amount of adhesive because of its closed cell structure

Cost effectivenessCostlier than the foam mattress Very economical

WeightCoir core mattresses weigh more compared to the foam mattresses

Use of PROTEClitelon drastically reduces weight of the mattress by more than 50%

Pharmaceutical: A growing industry in IndiaThe Indian healthcare sector is estimated to reach US$ 100 billion by 2015 which is growing at a rate of 20% year-on-year (y-o-y) and it is expected to touch US$ 280 billion by 2020, because of the increasing demand for specialized and quality healthcare facilities.

Indian pharmaceutical industry is also projected to show double-digit growth in near future owing to a rise in phar-maceutical outsourcing and rising investments by multinational compa-nies, as per RNCOS report titled 'Indian Pharma Sector Forecast 2014'. The report highlighted that focus of the industry will shift towards capitalising

the potential of tier-III and rural areas. Emerging sectors, such as bio-generics and pharma packaging will also pave way for the pharmaceu-tical market to continue its upward trend during the forecast period (FY 2012- FY 2014), which will also give rise to the demands in insulation appli-cations.

Consequently, Supreme envisages remarkable growth as it contributes significantly to this pharma industry with a wide range of products for thermal insulation applications in Underdeck, Ducting, Piping, Flooring, Overdeck & Wall.

Vapour barrier laminationRockwool / Slagwool material contains many impurities which do not allow adhesive of vapour barrier without which open cell structure materials are not suited for low temperature applications

INSUshield is a closed cell insulation material offering a smooth surface for lamination of vapour barrier. The adhesion is proper, uniform and without any air entrapment

Rockwool / Slagwool INSUshield

Comparison between Rockwool / Slagwool and INSUshield (Chemically crosslinked polyethylene foam)

Thermal conductivityRockwool / Slagwool material contains chemical impurities like Sulphides and Chlorides absorb moisture from the atmosphere thereby increasing its thermal conductivity and lowering its thermal resistance

INSUshield being a closed cell material, its thermal conductivity remains unaffected with atmospheric changes. Thermal conductivity of INSUshield is lower as compared to Rockwool / Slagwool

HandleabilityGrab strength of material is very poor. Physical impurities as un-fiberised particles in the form of steel shots only add to the weight of the material, without contributing towards the insulating properties

INSUshield gives ease of handling. It is convenient to carry to heights for placing both in vertical and horizontal applications without sagging

ApplicationApplication with Rockwool / Slagwool is messy. Fibers released in the atmosphere is a matter of concern, for all the applicators and occupants in the comfort conditioned spaces

INSUshield is easy to work with, provides a uniform furnish and requires lower thickness for similar conditions, thereby providing more space for other utilities

Material constructionRockwool / Slagwool products are open cell structure materials containing a major content of slag

INSUshield is a closed cell chemically crosslinked product which offers high resistance to moisture transmission
