    On behalf of our client, Dunwoody College of Technology, StoneArch Resources is

    conducting a retained search for a new Program Manager-Physical Therapist Assistant.

    ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

    Founded in 1914, Dunwoody is a private, non-profit, endowed institution of highereducation. It is the oldest institution of its kind in the Upper Midwest, with aninternational reputation for outstanding educational programs. Students may earn an

    Associates of Applied Science (AAS), Bachelors of Science (BS) degree or a certificate

    in fields including: Automotive, Electronics, HVAC, Interior Design, Graphics, FoodScience, Welding, Applied Management and many more.

    Dunwoody College of Technology has trained more than 250,000 students and has been

    named one of the top technical schools in the United States. The College is committed toexcellence. For example, from the spring 2005 graduating class, 97.4% were placed in

    rewarding careers; each graduate received an unprecedented average of 4.2 employer

    requests.

    The Dunwoody campus, at 818 Dunwoody Boulevard, is located on 15 acres of land on

    the western edge of downtown Minneapolis. The Dunwoody buildings have a gross areain excess of 300,000 square feet devoted to the educational programs and administrative,

    recreational and support services. Shops and laboratories are furnished with tools and

    equipment typical of the industries employing Dunwoody graduates.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Program Manager will provide continued development and administration of the new

    Physical Therapist Assistant Program as well as ensure the quality and integrity of the

    curriculum offered, and provide strong leadership and direction to the faculty. He or Shewill also initiate the teaching and learning process with a focus on continuous

    improvement as well as create an environment in which students can accomplish the

    learning objectives of the course of instruction. Designing and developing a newcurriculum will be critical to this role. This program has currently been granted candidacy

    status for accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy

    Education. This will be done in a manner consistent with the mission, vision and values

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    The Program Manager-Physical Therapist Assistant at Dunwoody College of Technology

    is responsible for leadership of a new program. Specific responsibilities include:

    Builds effective relationships; seeks out and responds to others proactively; isaccessible to others; reacts to feedback positively and copes effectively with

    Leads and manages change; actively supports organizational change initiatives;displays a sense of urgency; accurately scopes out the length and difficulty of

    Manages individual and team performance; effectively aligns department andindividual goals with strategic plan; develops and communicates specific,attainable, and measurable goals; provides ongoing, positive and constructivefeedback on performance, coaches under-performers and develops employees to

    QUALIFICATIONS

    The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled professional with a passion for higher

    education. The successful candidate will be a person of integrity and proven professional

    experience in the physical therapy field as well as a strong commitment to achieving

    educational excellence and diversity.

    A Masters degree is required along with Minnesota licensure as a PhysicalTherapist or a Physical Therapist Assistant.

    Five plus years of documented clinical experience, including work experience inthe Physical Therapist/ Physical Therapist Assistant relationship is required.

    Teaching experience is important, along with some experience in administration. Experience in educational theory and methodology (curricular design,

    development, implementation, and evaluation) is valued, along with experience ininstructional design and methodology and experience in student evaluation andoutcomes assessment.

    The program manager will possess highly developed skills in communication,management, negotiation, advocacy, and creative methods of planning, teachingand team development.

    Exemplary interpersonal skills including the ability, savvy, and credibility toengage and interact with key leaders from a variety of constituencies is key, as is

    the willingness, presence and ability to be an effective communicator, a

    persuasive influencer, and a good listener.

    The knowledge and experience to motivate, coach and develop staff and to meetobjectives including anticipating challenges, identifying issues and developing

    solutions will be needed in this position along with the ability to work effectivelyon a collaborative basis with a wide range of constituencies and stakeholders in adiverse community.

    COMPENSATION

    The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and competitive with

    similar academic institutions. A full benefits package, paid vacation and sick leave are

    included.
