On behalf of the CMA Board of Directors, the CMA Conference Program Committee and the CMA staff, welcome to the 120th National Western Mining Conference & Exhibition!
The National Western Mining Conference & Exhibition is the Rocky Mountain region’s largest conference focusing on the mining industry and hundreds of attendees from all over the region are expected. The conference is the premier event for professional growth, exploration of the latest developments for those interested in mining, and networking with colleagues.

HACKMINES: NEWMONT INNOVATION CHALLENGEStudents from the Colorado School of Mines have the opportunity to apply creative innovation skills to a big, real world challenge by participating in this exciting, team-based competition. Participants will learn about the mining industry and several areas of opportunity for innovation, brainstorm innovation ideas, formulate and iterate basic prototypes, and prepare and present their team’s idea/innovation to a panel of judges. Winners receive prizes and the teams with the best ideas will have the opportunity to continue work on their idea with financial support from the competition sponsor,
