META-SPACE Synchronous Urban Computing The Meta-space is envisioned as an urban area that becomes hyper-public through the use and application of various forms of participatory urban computing. Built on a public satellite internet infrastructure, this concept for Wikitopia imagines new forms of social and political interactions on the basis of a new computational infrastructure that is cit- izen driven, scalable and that bridges the gap between the analogue and the digital aspects of our lives. In this submission, the concept of the meta-space is visualized through a platform for urban Augmented Reality (AR). The Meta-space is envisioned as an urban area that becomes hyper-public through the use and application of various forms of participatory urban computing. Built on a public satellite internet infrastructure, this concept for Wikitopia imagines new forms of social and political interactions on the basis of a new computational infrastructure that is cit-izen driven, scalable and that bridges the gap between the analogue and the digital aspects of our lives.

In this submission, the concept of the meta-space is visualized through a platform for urban Augmented Reality (AR). Two or more identical urban installations in different cities across the world continuously map their surroundings exchanging spatial information that is visualized by users located within these regions.
