Vision - Getting it Right LM restaurants started as a single momand-poplocation operated by owner Lou Moshakos and hiswife in 1978. The company now has over 2500employees. “The space reflects the culmination ofyears of lessons and experiences of an aggressiveRaleigh-based family business that oversees 25Carolina Ale Houses across six states, seven otherdining concepts in the Triangle and coastal NorthCarolina under hospitality management group LMRestaurants.”- The News & Observer

Another factor that significantly changed thecourse of the project was Lou’s patience andwillingness to go back to the drawing board. Theproperty was purchased in 2008 and was originallygoing to be a remodel. “Owner Lou Moshakostinkered with plans to convert the two-story officebuilding on the downtown lot he bought in 2008into a restaurant building, but the plans didn’tseem to do justice to the location. “We went backto the drawing board, ... and drew it the way wewanted to build it,” he said during a personal tourand lunch at the new restaurant space onThursday.” - The Triangle Business Journal

Collaboration - Going the Extra Mile When an owner like Lou, who is accustomed tosketching ideas on napkins and trying new thingsmeets a well coordinated team like Libart, greatthings can happen. Here’s how it worked: Lou’s wife, Joy had heard about the Libartretractable windows made in Turkey. Chris Stoverof Libart USA made arrangements for Lou and Joyto meet Cem Comu, CEO of Libart International, atthe Istanbul, Turkey headquarters where theylearned more about the Panora-View products, viewed demonstrations and visited localinstallations. The technology and the team were inplace to put together an extraordinary project. Loubegan working with Libart USA’s regiona dealer,

Darrell Kennedy of Five Star Retractable Systems.Darrell and his team worked hand-in-hand with thearchitect, contractor and restaurant managers tofinalize specifications for the SolaGlide skylights,Panora-View windows and Stoett Panorama solarshades. The collaborative effort was topped off with acelebratory Trade Summit where Darrell, and Chrishonored Lou with a gift to one of Lou’s favoritecharities, Junior Achievement of Eastern NorthCarolina.
