Well I'm going to talk about the history of Dubai and how they transformed their country radically.

The 60s of last century were very important to Dubai because they found their greatest source of wealth: oil. With the revenue generated by the oil, Dubai increased rapidly their population and started being a major tourist destination.

For this reason Dubai had to expand their international airport and began to build commercial and recreational centers.

But radical change began in 1990, when Emir Mohammed bin took command after his father's death.

He knew that oil was going to run out one day. That´s why he decided to promote tourism and began to build modern and impressive structures to attract tourists.

So tourism is an important part of the Dubai government's strategy to maintain the flow of foreign cash into the country.

Today, thanks to the various attractions of the city is only dependent on oil by 20%.
