Yes, they should have gone for construction, as againstrenovation because the classroom structure are alreadyweak and damaged. A new construction would have beenmost appropriate for the project.

IS THE PROJECT IN A STRATEGICAREA?

Yes

HOW QUICK CAN ONE LOCATE IT? It was quite easy to locate because it is the only primaryschool in the ward. Also only road leads in and out ofkujama town. The school is directly opposite a recentlyconstructed primary health care centre.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF THE PROJECTIN THE COMMUNITY?

PRINCIP AL The school head teacher stated that the renovation andfurnishing of the classrooms is much needed by the schoolas the school lacks classrooms and furnitures for pupils.

He went on to state that if the project is carried out, it wouldgo a long way in making teaching and learning very easyand comfortable.

STUDENTTwo young pupils were asked if they needed new classes orfence, and their response was “We need a playground witha lot of play area like seesaw, swing, football pitch etc like itis seen in most private schools around”. Therefore it couldbe deduced that the renovation of the block is not apriority of the end users even though it is needed.
