Provides technical assistance to specific local governments to build their capacity to carry out the devolved functions of government and to plan, implement and evaluate development projects in their jurisdictions. 6. European Union EU-Asia Invest Programme The Asia-Invest Programme is designed to help companies internationalize their business strategies and to facilitate business cooperation between companies in the European Union and South and South East Asia and China. Public-Private Partnership Programme (PPP)

PPP is a flexible financing programme for projects which are neither stipulated by legal requirements nor belong to the company’s core business, which would not materialize without public contract and which have positive effects on the country’s development. The BMZ/DEG co-finances commitments of private enterprises in developing and transition countries. Such commitments have to be valuable with a view to development policy and particularly address investment-tied and investment-preparing projects in the fields of environment protection, training and supplementary training, infrastructure, qualification, pilot facilities, product or process adjustments to local conditions, health issues and industrial safety. Any company (irrespective of turnover and industry, but with exception of the tobacco and alcohol industries and other sensitive areas) with west European citizens holding a share of more than 25% or having a decisive influence on the company’s management is eligible.

16. UNIDO DTI-XI Industrial Development Programme for Income and Employment Generation for SMEs in Mindanao

The project aims at developing local institutional capabilities in Mindanao for promoting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSEs). The program of selected MSEs support organizations in the private and government sectors will be consolidated and strengthened in their capacity to effectively deliver a package of assistance services for developing MSEs in order to establish new and expand existing MSEs. At the end of the project, an industrial skills development programme for Mindanao will have been formulated and the skills of those who are seeking employment in the industrial sector will have been improved.
