To coordinate all communication interactions between Project Phidisainternal and external stakeholders. We will build mutual understandingand awareness by:

Supporting implementation of Project Phidisa objectives

Administering Corporate Communication functions at DMCOC

Developing information materials to support recruitment efforts

Developing information that builds specific understanding of the nature of the study and its progress

STATUS SUMMARY

Communication coordination faces many challenges but is making progress

Communication coordinated the launch on the 1st of December 2003 – and the successful opening of two sites on 19 January 2004

This Project received an overwhelming positive response from the media and the public as well as the intended SANDF stakeholders (who are our potential volunteers)

ATTENTION AREAS Redevelop and maintain the current public website and develop a website for internal communications among Project Phidisa members

Identify and possibly hire a content manager for both websites (Public and internal Internet)

Use available SANDF communication vehicles for messages targeted to potential volunteers

Identify information needs of Operational Groups and develop internal newsletter targeted to those needs

Coordinate the opening of 2 Military Hospital and Health Centre Umtata

Coordinate and compile the Project Phidisa 1st Annual journal
