Benefits: The benefits of this project will be the replacement of and oil and chip street to a PCC pavement Class II truck route. Also, there will be an increase in employment at Sparta Light Metal Products, Inc. This project will also help keep a portion of the production capabilities in Sparta and not move out of state. Benefits: As a result of this project, upgrades can be made to the debris screens and hoisting mechanism. Further, debris removal will be less hazardous to City employees and flood pumps can remain operational even during heavy rain events. Most importantly, five (5) businesses located within the affected area can retain 25 full time jobs without fear of future flooding to their businesses or the ability to access them.
