I am able to promote my magazine in many ways including the traditional methods and modern day versions. By promoting my magazine this will allow me gain a wider audience for my magazine and allow the magazine to become more popular. It would also allow the magazine to be recognised a lot quicker meaning the vast majority of people will know about my magazine. By promoting my magazine I hope that it would mean that my magazine would become more well known and it could become known not just in this country but also internationally.

Promotion Methods -Explanation

Traditional Methods By using some of the traditional methods this would enable people who are not

as confident with modern day methods such as using online WebPages and social networking, to also find out about my magazine.

These traditional methods would include promoting on things such as the TV, radio, newspapers, other magazines, and buses.

Firstly I hope to be able to provide one of the well known newspapers with a promotion for my magazine. This would mean that people who are reading that magazine would see my promotion and want to find out more about my magazine. By using a well known magazine this means that a lot more people could find out about the magazine and would want to buy it. I believe that this could be one of my most successful promotion methods as most people would be buying the newspaper meaning they would see the promotion.

In addition I would using the radio as one of my promotion methods. As my magazine is a pop magazine I feel it would be suitable to have a promotion on a well known radio that plays pop music such as capital or kiss. Furthermore as my magazine is aimed at teenagers most teenagers listen to the radio and therefore would hear about my magazine.

Another possible way of promotion would be through TV. This would also be a successful way of promotion as many people are up to date with technology meaning they would have a TV which could show my magazine. TV’s are widely used and by having an advert which would provide information and promote my magazine would be suitable.

My last method of traditional promotion would be by using signage. This means that I could have posters designed which I would be able to locate in various locations meaning that a wide range of people would see this. In addition using signs on buses would be a suitable method of promotion as the bus would constantly be moving meaning that many people would see this.

Modern Methods Even though I will be using traditional methods of promotion I have decided that it will still

be suitable to use modern methods. I have decided that this would still be a good idea because my magazine is aimed at teenagers most teenagers are up to date with modern technology meaning that I could promote my magazine through this. Also by using modern methods this would attract my target audience and make them more interested in what my magazine may offer.

The main modern method I could use for my promotion would be social networking sites such as Facebook and twitter. By using these sorts of websites this would mean that my magazine could gain popularity and become more widely known. Twitter would be a good way of promoting as most celebrities have a twitter account and my target audience would also be likely to have a twitter account in which they follow celebrities. I could use the hashtag on twitter to make my magazine become more popular. I would also think about paying celebrities to hashtag my magazine which would be a suitable idea as this means that a lot more people would see it as celebrities on twitter have thousands of followers. This would also mean that it could be seen worldwide and the trend could become one the of the top 10 in the world, meaning that my magazine would be known worldwide.

By setting up a Facebook page this would enable people to be kept up to date with all the latest news and information for my magazine. This would also allow people to like the page so that people who have an interest can find out more information. It would also mean that it would come up on there news feed meaning that they wouldn’t have to search for ages to try and find the magazine Facebook page meaning that it would be easily accessible.

Finally I will have a app which would be available on my phones from the app store. This would mean that anyone would be able to access the app and have a look whenever they want to. In addition the app would be a good promotion method. This is because m magazine is aimed at a young audience who are often always with their phone, meaning an app like this would be appealing and interesting for the audience.
