“Red” Ullom, 97, of Kittanning, PA, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Good Samari-tan Hospice in Cabot, surrounded by his fam-ily.

He was born on De-cember 20, 1920 in Waynesburg, PA to Robert and Ida (Moore) Ullom.

Red grew up in Waynesburg and hon-orably served his coun-try during WWII as a pilot in the US Army Air Corps. He gradu-ated from Waynesburg University in 1948 and also attended West Virginia University and the University of Pittsburgh. Dave loved coaching football and was the coach at Mid-way High School from 1954-1957, where the team won the WPIAL title in 1956. In 1958, Red was hired as the football coach for Kit-tanning Senior High School and he held the position for 19 years. His years at Kittanning were very successful and “David ‘Red’ Ul-lom Football Field” was named for him af-ter his retirement.

In addition to be-ing the football coach, Dave taught biol-ogy for the Armstrong School District. He also was a truck driver for Pepsi for 21 years. Later in his life, Red was inducted into the

Armstrong County Hall of Fame and also served as a board member. He was a member of the First Church of God in Kit-tanning and enjoyed playing golf in his spare time. The Pitts-burgh Steelers were his favorite football team and he was a season ticket holder for many years. Dave will for-ever be remembered by the community as a leader who worked to make the town a better place, and by his fam-ily as a caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His fun and loving spirit will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his daugh-ters, Pattie Imm and husband, Scott, of Mc-Grann, Debbie Odrey and husband, David, of Moon Twp., and Cathy Scherrer and husband, William, of Ford City; grandchildren, Brian Bezdek and wife, Jen-nifer, Jill Kyees and husband, Daniel, Jes-sica Scherrer, Amy Yokley and husband, Ernie, Andrew Scher-

rer and wife, Lisa, and Zachary Scherrer; and great-grandchildren, Riley, Braydon, Rae-gyn, Cameron, Revin, Blake, Tyler, Callie, and Caleb.

Red was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Jackie (McDonald) Ullom, who passed away June 16, 2005; three broth-ers; and seven sisters.

Friends and family will be received from 7-9 PM on Thursday, August 16, 2018 and 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Fri-day, August 17, 2018 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Servic-es, Inc., 515 N. McK-ean Street, Kittanning.

Additional visita-tion will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, Au-gust 18, 2018, at the funeral home, with his son-in-law, David Odrey, and the Rev. Stan Schilffarth co-of-ficiating. Military hon-ors will be conducted at the funeral home by the American Legion Honor Guard.

Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.

Arrangements are being handled by Bau-er Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
